Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This is a beautifully detailed Jeepster.
“1951 WILLYS JEEPSTER. Professionally restored by Charlie’s Garage / Custom Automotive Specialists of Mesa, Arizona.. Charlie’s Garage is a family owned and operated business of 20 years. This Jeepster has had every nut and bolt removed, replaced or repaired and rebuilt from the ground up….The Jeepster has 1,961 miles on it and the restoration was completed in 2005. The Jeepster has a brand new out of crate Chevy 350 Ram Jet engine, with a 3 Speed Automatic Transmission “Art Carr 700 R4. The Transfer case is Atlas, the front & Rear Differentials are Currie 9″ Ford. Windows have seperate cases for front and back windows. I have 80 K invested and have priced this Jeepster to sell. Money was no object in this restoration. Questions are welcome and If I can’t answer your question, Charles will be happy to take your call. Thank you and enjoy the pictures…..This is my baby and has been very well taken care of. I have all the documents on the restoration and all the pictures that will go with the car on sale day. This has no title. It runs.
“This 1947 Jeep Willys was purchased in 1986 and has no title. it does however have a colorado VIN inspection and was cleared. it can be titled in any state … just needs some paperwork done. the VIN inspection and a bill of sale which i will provide. it was used very little for hunting on private roads so it wasnt titled in colorado. it was a project my grandfather wanted to do 25 years ago. it runs great has a Buick V6 231. it has chevrolet steering. the brakes work … just need to be bled as it has been sitting in a shed for some years now but i have been running it and with some TLC it will be a very nice vehicle again. we have a spare tire for it but it was flat so it is at the repair shop now being fixed.”

“1947 Willy’s CJ2A “flat fender” Jeep. 4 cylinder with 3 speed transmission and Dana 18 – 2 stick hi/low transfer case. Lock out hubs, almost new NDT tires, new gas tank, recently replaced the differential third member, 12-volt system with alternator, tow bar and extra rear seat. Very little rust, very restorable or run as is. $4,000 OBO.”

“I have for sale or possible trade is a 1950 willys jeep rock crawler or muddier. YES I HAVE A TITLE. This thing is fully built with new 35in super swampers. Fronts are factory cut the rear are cut to clear mud faster. It has twin stick transfer. I just put 500 in new parts as in battery brake calipers, new nuts for spindles and new front brake pads. Plus all the new Gage’s and switches. This is fully caged all the way to frame. Geared very low low enough you can walk next to it. It has a 318 with auto trans there is no 1st gear in trans but you don’t need it at all with the gearing it has racing seats and 2sets of seat covers. Much much more. Asking 6500. That’s jeep look for a built buggy like this they’re going for 9000 and up. Call or txt 812/604/4845. The rear is air controlled as in height wise. It’s alot of fun.”

UPDATE: Was $5000. Status Unknown.
The rear has been lengthened. However, unclear when this mod was completed. There have been other mb/gpws with lengthened rears. However, the bench seat are definitely an eyesore.
“Take a gander at what I have here………..The previous owner did a nice custom job adding 16″ to the overall length with bench seats!!! This one of a kind Ford GPW jeep has a Kaiser Supersonic flat head 4 cyl that runs and drives. This is an awesome trail buggy/ two-tracker ( and summer is right around the corner) or a nice rare find for someone who wants to restore an original one. I have the original title from the first owner when he bought it in 1962.
Serious inquiries, equal trades, and reasonable offers will be pondered, looking for black rifles, Kalashnikovs, Ammo, a nice motorcycle who knows”
