Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1953 Willys Cj3B High Hood 4×4 Jeep. Partially restored project Jeep. Will run and drive. Has the original F Head engine. I started restoration. Almost all of the exterior body work is done. Needs some work on the floors. The body is just about ready to remove from the frame so as to weld in new metal. Included in the sale are some of the metal parts needed. A metal told box, step valance and floor support hat channels are included in the sale. Also not pictured but included in the sale is a late model roll bar, a new hood, original windshield frame and tailgate. There is a spare F Head engine included as well. This jeep is an easy restoration that can be done with minimal funds providing you have the time and skill to finish it. $4,500 FIRM Call”

UPDATE: You can view an article in which this photo appeared here. That link also suggests that the date listed for the photo below of Dec. 1958 is incorrect.
I just wish they showed more of the jeep! Is that a “Jeep” Dispatcher logo on the side? (see logo at the bottom). Looks like that jeep could be a DJ-3A. As for the Jeep Jamboree event, this one was help in Texas near South Padre Island. The same photograph below was featured in this article: http://www.ewillys.com/2012/08/25/1957-jeep-jamboree-from-texas/ (It seems I never scanned the article, I only posted the eBay pic, so I will get that done!)
“This is an original press photo. Jeep Jamboree relay race required the driver to bring back to his teammates a pennant that had been erected about 50 feet out in the surf. This fellow chose to keep his car dry and get himself wet by making the retrieval on foot.Photo measures 8 x 10.25inches. Photo is dated 12-09-1958.”

It has a 215ci Buick aluminum block v6 and turbo 350 auto 4 speed tranny still equipped with the 2 speed gearing And original warn transfer case. It runs great and drives like a jeep if you know what I’m talking about…lol, has power steering covertion and 2 fuel tanks, soft top, Rancho suspension and 33″tires. Anyone into old jeeps or vehicles will definatly appreciate it!.”

“I have a 1947 Jeep Willys CJ2A for sale Nice Jeep, parade vehicle or unstoppable 4X4. Supersonic 4 cylinder rebuilt with receipts by reputable jeep shop. 12V New Distributor. Everything works, does have the 2nd gear pop common to these jeeps and leaks out tranny not bad though just usual felt seals on these old beasts. I’m selling cause I wanna get something that I can take out and get dirty. This thing is too nice for me to do that! Serious inquires only no trades. $6000 firm.“
