Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Willys Jeep CJ3B by Mitsubishi. Rare jeep as very few Willys by Mitsubishi were brought to the USA. The irony of this should not be lost on anyone. We bombed them and they licensed this legendary Jeep afterwards. 4 cylinder factory engine rebuilt by Napa Auto in Orland. Has less than 20 miles on it. New clutch, water pump, exhaust, etc. Many new parts. Runs and drives very good. In very good condition.”

“Have decided to sell my 1948 Willys CJ2a which I’ve owned for the past 6 years or so and have loved. I’ve started a Bronco project and don’t get to drive this one as much as I used to.
This Jeep looks a bit rough but runs BEAUTIFULLY including four wheel drive- would be a good candidate for a cosmetic restoration or just to drive around as-is like I’ve been doing.
Many new parts and upgrades since I’ve owned it including:
-Five new tires and tubes
-New rebuilt Carter carburetor
-New radiator
-New plugs and wires
-Complete rewiring with new wiring harness
-New gas tank
-Aftermarket turn signals for safer road use
-New brake system
-New gauges
This Jeep comes with an aftermarket Koenig metal hardtop from the 1950s- see pics. Also comes with a spare transmission/transfer case I bought as a backup but never needed.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.
(10/01/2019) This is a parts jeep that’s been disassembled. There’s no fake battery box lid, so I suspect the body is later than 1959.
“1959 Willy’s Jeep CJ6
This is a rare, long wheel base CJ. Similar to the CJ5, except for being nearly 20” longer! It’s a project, but it’s mostly there! I have everything except the axles, engine, transmission, or seats. I have the tub, fenders, hood grille, tailgate, windshield, softtop, frame, and title. Too many other projects, sadly, this one must go.”
I return to Pasco on Saturday, so will be offline most of the day. Probably no updates Sunday.

In 1947, some Queen Anne Jingle Bar Wrappers included the opportunity to complete a jingle to win all kinds of contest prizes. It appears there were at least three different contests and each included a chance to win a Station Wagon.
1. This ad is on eBay, but the date is not listed. The Jingle goes:
JIMMY GOT A JINGLE BAR
HE LOVED EACH LUSCIOUS BITE
SAND HE, “QUEEN ANNE’S JINGLE BAR
___________________________” (fill in the final line)
2. This Ad was on eBay with the following contest circa September 1947:
MARY BOUGHT A JINGLE BAR,
SHE THOUGHT IT REALLY NEAT.
NOW SHE GETS ONE EVERY DAY,

3. This ad appeared in the November 30, 1947, issue of the Sunday Star. This Jingle was different:

This Bud Fisher’s Mutt and Jeff comic appeared in the Sunday Star on August 5, 1945, under the title “Well Boys, Get Yourself a Jeep and Go Places”.
