This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This is a fun Jeep to cruise around in. It was restored in 2003. It was a frame up. The frame was sand blasted and powder coated, modified to install a Buick odd fire 225 out of a 1969 CJ5, it has a turbo 350 automatic adapted to the original Dana 18. The interior is original seat frames with new upholstery with a softop. I installed a painless 12 circuit wiring harness, new Autometer gauges, tilt steering from an 85 Chevy PU, Running steel wheels with 32’s, one inch rancho sping lift. Power steering upgraded to a saginaw power steering box.”

(01/05/2021) Roger Martin shared this plow jeep. It’s got a CJ-5 hardtop and what looks to be a DJ windshield.
“Willys cj2a or 3a repowered with buick dauntless v6. Runs and drives. 4×4 works. Dualamatic locking hubs. Heated cab. Plow works. Be a good build project. Have extra parts available.”

We trying to see how much we could get for it (not give it away) My brother had to Deploy and left his toy behind to to sell or trade .! (02/06/2021) Looks in good shape. Has the wrong grille for a 1948.
“This is a stunning 1948 Willy’s Jeep that has been carefully restored to be a perfect piece for a collector or a Jeep lover who wants a piece of American History. Purchased with plans to drive as a summer toy, plans have changed and need to find this beauty a great home. Vehicle displays 66,705 miles. Vehicle has been restored and includes many original components, including the engine, transmission, bridge frame, gauges, etc.
Was repainted in a satin fire red color and is a real head turner both on and off the road. As you can see from the pictures, all restoration components were carefully selected to be vintage OEM pieces and the work was done to keep the vintage feel of the era. The jeep includes 1/2 doors with canvas uppers (not pictured) and a full canvas top (as shown).
This ought to be good for tackling desert and mountain trails in the PNW.

“For sale rebuilt/refurbished late 1940’s Spicer 18H PTO system. Includes rebuilt input unit, driveshaft and rear mount output unit. Input unit has new bearings and seals. Output unit disassembled and inspected with new seals. Driveshaft is in good condition with original flex joint boots intact. Fits CJ2A, CJ3A, CJ3B, M38 and possibly early CJ5 & M38A-1. $900/OBO”
John helped me locate this short video from 1963 showing one of Cornwall’s surf rescue teams. In it, these brave young men demonstrate how they utilize their specially modified jeep to perform rescues. Baywatch it aint!

This September 17, 1949, article in the Green Bay Press-Gazette states that the four-wheel-drive wagon evolved out of a military special order for four-wheel-drive-wagons. I’ve run across that fact previously, maybe on a brochure?
