Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (03/17/2015) David spotted this unique, cool GPW Ford truck jeep. It even has a tilt bed.
“42 Ford tilt bed truck – 302 Mustang power – C4 automatic – 9″ rear end. Disc brakes on front, mag wheels, 2 fuel tanks, cloth interior. Currently on a Historical Vehicle license. Great driver. Formerly a magazine car, with copies to go with it.”

“25 year old frame off restoration. Painted in Michigan yellow. Runs and drives great.
60 HP, 4 Cylinder Go Devil Engine. 4×4, Original miles 35000.
6 Volt System.”

“1951 M-38 Jeep – Hurricane Flat Head 4 cyl. , 65 hp. engine .
Ground up restoration in 2009.
Drives and runs great, approx. 2000 miles on total restoration.”
Has updated motor, but might still be worth a look.
“For Sale is my 1946 Jeep CJ2A. In fair condition but needs some work. 1963 154 CU four cyl. engine that needs work. Transmission and transfer case rebuilt with less than 100 miles on them. Too many projects to do so this one is going to go.”

“Great, nearly original 1946 Willys CJ-2A. 12 volt system. Less than 2,000 miles since the professional engine rebuild, including hardened valve seats. Drag-link steering upgrade. 30% overdrive. Nearly rust-free, but minor rusting near tail gate. Tow bar. Odometer shows just over 18,900 miles, however unsure of exact mileage. Soft Besttop has hail damage. Seldom drive it these days, but highly drivable and fun. . .”
