This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It’s no reserve auction currently at only $102.50. Certainly worth that! I’m less convinced about the ‘extremely collectable’ claim.

Runs and drives. Has a rare set of rear doors. Reminds me of Andy’s airport jeep, but not identical to it.

It’s a project.
“What you are looking at is an original 1946 CJ2A Willys Jeep that has been painted like a military Jeep. The jeep is a project Jeep. It does not run or drive as of now. It’s fairly complete and the body is pretty solid. It will need floor patching or repair if you wanted to make it perfect. The sides of the body have no bondo on them and are very solid and pretty straight. All you see on the Jeep goes with the Jeep. ”

The front frame rails have been lengthened.
“I have a ’47 jeep cj2 with Chevy 350, t-15 3 speed transmission, Dana spicer 20 transfer case and power steering, axles, and suspension from a later model cj. New BFG tires. Runs and drives but sometimes grinds out of reverse when backing up. It was previously tagged and inspected but they have expired. Looking to trade for 2010 and up Polaris RZR 800 and up or a Harley Davidson. I would also be interested in a multiple high end gun trade. Open to other offers also. Text preferred but you can call or email.”

Looks like the pair is priced at $3500. The 2A runs and the 3A doesn’t.
“I have two complete Jeep’s for sale. I would like to sell these as a pair. They are both partially restored and have new tires etc… I drove the 1947 quite a bit this summer, it ran great. Has been sitting in my shop the last couple of months and the last time I tried to start it, it would run for a while then die. I think the carb needs cleaned. The 1953 is complete but the engine is disassembled. They would be fun to tinker with this winter.”
Both are projects. The first is $5000 and the second $2000.

“fully restored frame off 1946 Willys CJ 2a . two year old restoration. runs excellent. did a week off roading thru colorado mountains and it performed flaulessly. converted to 12V. added a new best top, heater, cigarette lighter to charge cell phones, electric window wipers, you wont find a cleaner CJ2a. asking what i have in it.”

“I’m selling my basically stock 1948 willys cj-2A.
Original flathead engine rebuilt 2000 miles ago.
Originally axles
4 wheel drive works.
Soft top is very new and fits nice. Have soft doors but they need to be mounted.
It already has collector plates so no need for tabs ever again(it’s licensed as a horseless buggy)
It’s a fun jeep, extremely capable in 4wheel low and hilariously gutless in 2high but that’s honestly part of the fun and it’s only sixty horse power. I didn’t think I would get as much atention as I do when I’m driving it but people really like these old jeeps. Runs really good.”
