“1948 CJ2A; These originals are getting harder to find! Built with PRIDE by hands of the USA!!!! Complete restoration completed in 2015—original (frame, body, engine, heater, wheels, transmission, bumpers, steering wheel, shifter, etc).
The original color was gray with white wheels, similar to the color Canyon Glow which is an original WILLYS color. Some enhancements… tub dipped in lizard skin, 6 volt system to 12 volt, back seat added, “cigarette lighter” plug for phone charging, front LED turn signals (LED strips), Mastercraft tires LT225/75R16 M+S for a nicer ride. June 2020 compete engine inspection and tuneup. Replaced were head gasket (studs/nuts), thermostat housing, intake manifold, exhaust manifold (studs & nuts as well) and fluids (over $2000 spent).
Smaller hardware/parts were replaced as needed. I do have a box of some original parts replaced to include the original odometer. Tons of fun! We drive this WILLYS around the area with confidence.”
Has a variety of mods.

“1948 Jeep CJ2A Willy’s Flat fender. This jeep has been between two families for almost 40 years. This was completely stripped and rebuilt either new or rebuilt approximately 17 years ago. It started as a total disassemble and almost 3 year project. It has been on the road/trails now for 15 years.
Odometer reads 3560 miles, but motor has approximately 68,000 miles. Transmission and transfer case were rebuilt. Motor had all new seals and outer parts replaced. (water pump, alternator, p/s pump) All new belts and hoses throughout. Belts and hoses also recently changed within last 2 months before taking on a trip. Ford small block 302, 2 barrel carb, C4 automatic transmission. Continue reading

This nice little nugget of Willys history has been posted since 2011, but somehow I missed it. The Kaiser Willys blog has three photos of a CJ-2 (not CJ-2A) Fire Jeep that includes the “JEEP” plate across the front of the windshield.
