Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This has no title. Given the radiator and the transmission crossmember mount (just visible in one pic), this is likely a DJ-3A convertible body on a CJ-2A chassis.

Terry notes that this is rough, but there seems there could be value here. Though listed as a 1947, the Lefty setup suggests that the body is from 1948. Note the rare 4-Wheel-Drive branded hubs.

“I have a 1947 cj 2a that does run but will need some work. It won’t stay running I think it has a vacuum leak. It has the aluminum half cab with doors. I also have a running 4 cylinder and a parts 4 cylinder to go with it. I also have another jeep body that is in decent shape but needs floors. I have the floors for it just haven’t put them in. This looks in great shape. It does lack the bow holders and spare tire holder, but looks like a quality rebuild.

“Don’t have time for it anymore and need shed space. I believe it needs a head gasket. Has oil in coolant. *Engine DOES RUN* Has original hard top and doors and rear hatch, never got around to finish painting them. Has a new T-90 3spd transmission and Kaiser oil filter kit. Have a new carb in box still. Put a new one on last year and accidentally ordered a 2nd. Has ambient lights, grille lights and entry lights. Recently put a tachometer on it as well. New Distributor, Wires and MSD coil. Was 6V, 12V converted. Comes with box of original parts as well. I’m sure I’m forgetting some things. $7000 obo. Price negotiable.”
