About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(10/03/2011) The grille appears to be a ’46 or early ’47 grille.
“1949 willys. runs and drives great! original flathead 4cyl T90 tranny and transfer. 4×4 works great. brakes work but need fluid about every 3 days and will need work (typical) all following is new!! battery, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, coil, carb, elec fuel pump, fuel line,1 shock, front shackles, axle u bolts. tires have 90% tread left. this is a good old jeep in better than average condition for the year and the money. good ohio title in my name! last attempt to sell ,if not sold today i will keep it and do a full resto. over the winter. asking $3000 obo. 740-221-8580 (prefer calls, but text is ok) ”
Check out where the driver’s side drain hole is. It is floating an inch or two higher than it ought to be. So, there’s been some strange work done on that side. It also looks like this had the tool indents on the body. This does have a column shift and the three data plate setup.
“This auction is for an amazing 1946 Willys CJ2A Jeep. This is truely an amazing original old jeep that needs a new home.
The motor runs strong and smooth. The three speed “on the tree” column shift manual transmission shifts smooth and easy. It is clear that this jeep was not abused on the farm, like most were. I bought the jeep at the beginning of the summer and have put alot of work into it. The body was in great condition for the year! I did patch the floor in a few spots, but it is mostly original. The body was worked over, and the new paint shines great! The wiring was gone-through, and the lights and gauges work. The seats were reupholstered, and look great. This is a nice old flat fender jeep that gets some looks. It does need a set of tires. The ones on it now hold air, but are not road worthy.
This CJ will be stored in my climate controlled garage until the completion of the auction. It will be sold with a bill of sale, and an old registration. The state of New Hampshire does not require a title on vehicles that are considered antiques. ”
UPDATE: This was priced at $1200 on Craigslist last month and posted at eWillys. The seller decided to put this on ebay and the ebay bid price is now $2900. The lesson? More people should read eWillys!
“1947 cj2a jeep for sale .some rust, no seats, gear shift on steering column, motor stuck all there still 6 volt . parked in shed in 1990”
“New Black Paint Job, no rust, 4:56 Gear Rear end, no motor or transmission. New painless wiring kit, been under coated, full roll gauge, GM tilt column and new plastic fuel cell. This is a great buy and the only reason I’m willing to sell so cheap is because I’m moving and need to get rid of it before the move. Call or text 828-424-3467 and ask for Josh.”
“1948 jeep 95% complete,ready for someone to restory,no documentation,and rebuilt engine,doing this for a freind,please e-mail for more info $3800.00 OBO”
(09/28/2011) The lack of headlights suggests this needs some additional work.

There is some value here.
“Two old willys cj2a Jeeps and extra body parts. Please note: these are NOT in restorable condition. Major rust throughout body & frames. Drivetrains complete (not running). 2 extra grills, 3 extra hoods, 3 sets of fenders, 3 windshield frames (1 is cj3a good shape), 2 tailgates. Hate to scrap them if someone can use parts.”
This has the extended bed. There looks to be value here.
“1948 CJ-2A Willys Jeep Has title and VIN plates. Hurricane F-Head 134 I4 engine three speed transmission & twin stick transfer case. This jeep is all stock except for the 2 inch lift Rancho leaf springs and 31″ narrow super swampers. It has a TJ roll cage, extended bed, and bucket seats. Electric fans cool the engine and the old cam & leaver steering has been swapped out for a conventional manual Saginaw box. It does need a master cylinder. Other than that it runs and drives. A fun trail jeep or nice stock restoration project.”
