Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Just in case you think Jim paints everything green, he does know how to use a few other colors, too :-). Here’s his modified CJ-2A. In the post below is his white M-38.

Plenty of pics to see of this jeep. There’s a few items missing (bezels, parking lights, a couple dash features).
“Up for sale is a willys jeep that is a frame off restoration . It is powered by a flat top 4cy gas engine that runs and drives great. It has new army tires, new seats, new gas tank, the list goes on and on.”

These are both pretty rough. Neither runs.
” I have two Willys CJ2As. I was going to make one,but i don’t have the time or space. The 47 has a hard top with doors, the glass is good in the top but not in the doors or windshield. It is all stock with a Koenig PTO winch. The 48 is less together but it seems to all be there. It has 33X12.50 15 mud tires with 70%or 80% tread. Both have titles. Neither of them are running at this time. These are up for auction together.”
This is a highly modified race (drag/mud) jeep.
“Set up for big block Chevy – mid engine. TH-400 transmission with cooler. B&M Pro stick shifter. 3/4 ton Chevy front & rear end. 4 wheel disc brakes. Full roll cage w/ nets. 44″ Boggers rear 39 1/2″ Bogger front. 48 Flat fender fiberglass body. Bassett racing headers. Seat w/ 5-point harness. 12 gallon plastic fuel cell. GT steering wheel. 121″ wheel base. Call Troy 406-261-7820”
This is an interesting custom project. The transfercase is probably one of these four gm tcs. I’m not sure how the back of the cage mounts, but it’s unusual.

Custom 327 Chevy small block engine, Edelbrock Torker intake manifold, Accell ignition wires and coil, 1970 CJ-5 axles, Warn hubs, Newly rebuilt TH350 automatic transmission, Newer Chevy 4X4 transfer case, Custom Roll Bar, 5 point harness seat belts, Large Tachometer, Custom drive line, 33″ BFG tires (has wear), Transmission cooler, Fiberglass hood, Cherry Bomb header exhaust, New Electronic Fuel Pump, New Die Hard Battery.

This is a nice looking CJ-2A with a slightly different type of paint job. Looks good.
“1946 Willys Flat Fender Jeep; mechanically restored; new top and new tires; good paint tagged and inspected, needs nothing…ready to drive for hunting or summer fun; $5500.00”
It ran when they last parked it. I don’t know if that means it still runs or they haven’t tried starting it or?
“This is a pretty original 1946 CJ2A. I don’t know a whole lot about it – only that it ran when parked. My dad and I received this jeep from a cousin in trade for something else. I think the pictures tell the story and I have more so email me if you’d like for me to send you additional pictures. I don’t have the wherewithal (mainly a lack of time) to do anything with the jeep at this time. If you see this ad, the jeep is still available. The only trade I would consider is a partial trade towards an uncut first generation Bronco with minimal rust and a straight body.”
Here’s an interesting pile of parts out of Cherokee, NC.
“A great project for you flat fender Jeep fans. This is a 1942 Ford built GPW Jeep basket case with many many parts. There are basically two Jeeps here, the ’42 is a genuine WWII era model complete with the built in ammo storage cans in the back, the flip up headlights and the Browning machine gun mounting plate built into the frame. The other is a 1946 civilian jeep. These represent 10+ years of accumulating the parts and pieces to build a WWII jeep that I never got around to doing. ”

“The good stuff and everything I’ve added, replaced, rebuilt, etc: Clear Colorado title, Jeep is turn key, start it and go, needs nothing major right now. Original flathead 4 cylinder, Solex carb, 12 volt, rebuilt a few years ago, runs great, excellent oil pressure, no smoke etc. Original transmission/transfer case, also rebuilt, shifts tight, quiet, never does the “2nd gear pop” like so many Willys. Body’s in great shape, CJ3A windshield frame, The usual minor rust in the tool box (see picture) and at the ends of the hat channels. The rest of the Jeep’s in great shape, perfect floor boards front/back, some dents in the rear corners that someone repaired with bondo in the last 60 years….”

Here’s a CJ-2A that needs some work, though the nature of the work isn’t clear. Looks good.
“This is a little too much project for me. 1948 Willys CJ2A with the following, 64 ford 260v8, new Chevy alternator, rebuilt t90 trans 3speed, resealed transfer case twin stick, stock Dana axles 5:38 open gears, 2 to 4″ shackle lift, 35″ Tires Wild Country (75% tread), new master and slave cylinder for clutch, new clutch, throw out bearing, pilot bearing, pressure plate, resurfaced flywheel, rebuilt motorcraft 2100 carb ….. ”
