Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This is a 1947 Willys CJ2A Jeep I purchased to get parts that I needed. This was originally a well done upgraded Willys with a Chev V/8 with aftermarket front mount plate….., overdrive upgrade….., GM steering box…….front hub selectors…….and a Stewart Warner 160 mph speedometer !! (speedometer is not included in the sale). There was also a very well built ……almost cabinet maker quality…..wooden full top enclosure that has rotted away, but I have some of the pieces and hardware is someone was skilled and energetic enough to duplicate it.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000.
This is a VEC with the rear hubs and early windshield. Plus, it has a rear PTO. This should go fast at this price. No title. Serial number #11854.
“I am reposting this Jeep. I have been educated a little on what I have. I got VERY overwhelmed by the amount of messages I received after posting yesterday. For all of you that are going to come on here and say I should have gone with the first person who messaged me, I honestly couldn’t tell you who the hell messaged me first. I got so many at one time it was unreal. SO I do not have the title to this Jeep #30 1946 CJ-2A Willys I don’t know if this thing runs. It was a family members that we had to pay for to get it out of the shop when he passed. There are 2 rust spots in the floor inside the Jeep. Has PTO Must either come pick up or arrange to have it picked up and delivered.”

289 Ford V-8 engine – seized up
Adapted to a T-90 transmission- seized up
M-18 transfer case – seized up
Frame is good overall some bubba work on bumper
Saginaw steering
Has front locking hubs
Newer rear springs and front are in decent condition, sits good with the V-8
7 turbine aluminum wheels and 1 white spoke steel wheel, 3 tires hold air decent one not too bad the rest don’t.
I mocked up the body for pictures , but body is mostly apart

(10/07/2020) I’m not sure the ’45 CJ-2A is a ’45. I don’t see a column shifter and I can’t see rear hubs.

“I am listing this for my dad. He has 3 willys jeeps for sale. One is a 1945 cj2a. It is all original and complete but doesn’t run. It has set in the barn for several years. The other two are 1947 cj2a’s that he bought for parts. One is complete with a steel hard top the other one is missing the engine. None of them have titles. He isn’t willing to separate them, he wants to sell them together for $5000.00 .”

“I have a Willys CJ2A that I am looking to sell or trade. Was told it’s a 1946. Has original motor and trans but the engine is froze up. I have pulled the head and have the valves soaking. Body and frame are in good condition and not rusted out. It does not have a title. Bill of sale only. Looking to get $800 obo or trade on atv, guns, guitars, etc. let me know what you got”
