About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“This is a good vehicle for restoration.
99% of rust is surface only
One repair has been done on the rear panel
Original motor
Unknown if the engine starts
Has been stored in a garage for over 30 years”
“Can you believe FB has no option for a CJ Jeep! This is a 1946 CJ-2a even though it is titled as a 1947 for some reason. Vehicle is in very good shape no dents no rust it has had numerous body panels professionally replaced skimmed and prepped for paint. It has an f-head engine conversion that runs well, new tires, shocks and some suspension components. New seats . Has a new in box 12 volt conversion kit also. No top or doors. Comes with tow bar and a trailer hitch . This is a very good start towards a really nice Willys Jeep! I just decided I wanted something a little bit more Creature Comforts and not as nice to take up into the mountains…this is too nice to get dents in”
This may be one of the custom CJ-2A trucks sold out of Spokane (or it is a truck chassis with modified 2A body). This might differ from the “CJ-2Ls”, which had extended bodies to match the longer frames. It would be interesting to compare this frame with the CJ-2L frame. The half-top could be a remodeled Worman full-top.
This bottom ad describes a long-wheel base jeep with half cab made of wood. It’s plausible a similar vehicle was made with a metal half cab.
“Selling a “flat fender” CJ2A Jeep (militarized). Military radio, whip antenna, hot/cold thermos jug, rifle rack, (1) fuel can, (1) water can, high lift jack, and aircraft strobe light are all included. 4WD works, 3 speed manual tranny with Warn overdrive unit and Warn locking hubs. Jeep has a 1977 Buick 231 c.i. V6 engine that runs great. ( new wires, plugs, etc…). All 5 tires are 6.00×16 military non-directional, including spare. Vehicle is currently on a non-op registration with a Clean Title. Fun vehicle to drive on or off road. Makes a great parade vehicle. Cash only, no trades.”
At least some value is here, but I can’t tell how good the body is.
“I have a 1946 CJ2A project. Mostly complete including a free turning engine. T90 trans, Dana 18 transfer case. Seats in excellent condition. I bought it to restore, but it turns out to be too much for me. This is a major project or great parts vehicle. Very little body rust. Floors and tailgate solid. No title or numbers”
“Bought this a few months ago it ran and drove. It is an absolute blast to drive, like a cross between a tractor and a gokart… I took it around the neighborhood and to the grocery store a few times down the street, then started to prep to remove the tub to fix some body rust and a few other issues. Steering box was loose and brakes worked but felt weak.
I didn’t get very far, removed some body bolts, undid the dash wiring (all clearly labeled for easy re-assembly)
I got into garage today to start working on it again after a few weeks and realized how many other things I need to get done around the house, etc etc…
I figured I would put it up for sale. If i can get $7500 for I would sell it. I would really rather finish it as it isn’t a huge project, but I need to prioritize things a little more first.
Its extremely easy to work on, parts are plentiful. I have some new parts I bought that will go with it.
Headlights, tail lights, 4wd, etc all worked great. 4low is a blast as it just barely crawls around.
I have the passenger seat, it was just removed to get ready to remove tub.
It has a tow bar so you can flat tow it easily with a standard 2″ ball.”
Has some tool box rust. Overall looks pretty good.
“This is an all original (except paint) CJ2A. Runs great, needs nothing! New king pins and fuel pump. Top is included. Also door frames but I have no material for them. 4 X 4 works great and these jeeps go almost anywhere, so fun. There is a little rust under the body, floors are solid as is the frame.
I’m on the road a lot so I might not answer right away. If it’s listed it’s still available, please don’t ask. Thanks Jimmy. Any questions welcomed!!’
