Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Runs, but needs works.
“I am selling my 46 willys cj2a flat fender. It has a chevy 283 v8 in it, t90 transmission, dana 18 transfer case, dana 25 front, and i’m not sure on the rear axle. The motor fires up and runs great and its driveable with working brakes and clutch, however the vehicle needs some work. The Water pump leaks bad and needs replacement, the t-case leaks oil and could use a new t-case input shaft bearing (little noisy at higher speed), also needs a front drive shaft. Other than those bigger issues just general upkeep like going over lights, brakes, and making sure everything it secured properly before trusting it for a trip and also fixing the windshield. I haven’t owned it that long so can’t tell you too much on it’s background, but safe to say it was someone’s hunting rig and they plated the back end of the body from the gas tank back. It looks pretty good actually and wouldn’t dent in easily when wheeling and gave a solid mount for the gas can holders and ice chest rack on the back. It also has a small back seat with storage underneath. I have a clean non-op title so no worries there.”

(05/22/2016) Runs, but has no brakes.
“1947 cj2a in running driving condition but currently has no brakes. Go devil engine that runs pretty good,no major leaks. Fires right up. Aftermarket solix carburator. Transmission and transfer case in working order. Has after market hubs as well. Does have rust in hat channels and other body issues but in repairable shape. Newer reproduction gas tank under non original seat. The frame seems to be in really good shape. Stock axels front and rear.This is a good start for restoration. Comes with California pink slip. $2500 cash or trade for 12v cummins nv4500 truck/parts for crew cab Chevy swap”
UPDATE: Pics now provided. Appears to have the Hudson steering upgrade (not too surprising since the jeep came from California).

“1946 cj2a Willys jeep rat rod . Has losts of new parts . Seats , tires .2″ lift kit , new aluminum radiator , . I moved the seats back 4″ so I could fit I am 6’1″ .converted to 12v . The wheels are 32 bolt allied Beadlocks . Has a disk brake conversion on front axle with wilwood remote reservoir . Warn m8000 on front .rear main seal is leaking that’s the only leak on it . also comes with cj style roll cage hoop if you don’t want to run cage.”
