About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

“Be it a civilian or military jeep they were one tough vehicle. This civilian model 1953 Willys Jeep has the Hurricane 4 cyl. engine with the 4×4 optional transmission. Refinished in a bright maroon paint with a custom vinyl black top it will look good wherever you go. Original Willys hood and tailgate are still in place. Aftermarket chrome rims and radials make for a smooth ride. Jeeps have a very special following and owning a ’53 model is really neat. So if you like to go for just a nice ride in the country or go exploring over hill and dale, we have the perfect vehicle for you right here at Ellingson Motorcars in Rogers, Minnesota. *Civilian CJ-3B Willys Jeep *Original 4 Cyl. – 134 cu. in. – 70hp *3 Speed Manual – 4X4 Option *Red Vinyl Seats *Custom Black Vinyl Top *Dual Outside Mirrors *Electric Dual Wipers *Trailer Hitch *Seat Belts/Turn Signals *Willys Script Hood and Tailgate *Odometer Reads: 58,567 Miles If an inaccurate automobile price is inadvertently listed on this Website, Seller reserves the right to NOT honor the erroneous price.”
UPDATE: I wondered why the exhaust looked odd. Barney notes, the “tri-flanged tail pipe is for the fording tailpipe that would then go vertical up the back corner … but It should be clamped closer to the frame and not hanging down.”
Not perfect and not the ‘finest one still in existence’, but is a fairly solid example of a CJ-V35/U.
“For sale is the rarest of all military jeeps. The CJ-V35/U was built in early 1950 for the U.S. Marine Corps and only 1,000 units were built. This particular example is probably the finest one still in existence. It is totally solid and rust free. The original engine has been rebuilt and runs well. Brakes have been rebuilt and it has a new battery and a fresh tune up. They just don’t get any better than this one. All of this model had waterproof engine components and were set up for deep water fording. The waterproof starter, generator, and regulator are still functioning perfectly. I have 90% of the fording hardware to go with this jeep. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own the rarest and the best.”
“The legendary flatfender willys, Grandpa of all jeeps! This 68 year old 1952 m38a1 jeep willys, the last year for the flat fender willys. It was manufactured only for military purposes hence the designation m38. This particular one has a 300 hp chevy 350ci small block v8 from a corvette with edelbrock intake and mild cam, long tube headers, true dual exhausts, chrome valve covers, chevy steering box and steering shaft with a Saginaw 4 speed, manual transmission, and a twin stick trasfer case. Stock differentials with front hub locks, deep dish chrome steel rims, a set of worn down tires for the rims.
Body is in excellent shape, all steel everything . Redone floor, clean frame and body rails. Chrome tailgate to match the grill.
Comes with stock front end or an all fiberglass race front end with giant hood scoop.
Have another full metal jeep front end( grill, fenders, hood) as well as a cj2 grill with headlights.
Comes with period correct and rare bellview winch (the company warn bought their patent from and started manufacturing warn winches) another ramsy PTO winch and a ramsy PTO (power take off). Tow bar so you can tow the jeep like a trailer.
Plastic race seats with a grant steering wheel. Roll bar and a full soft top for it with doors. Sold with Alberta VIN and bill of sale.”
Has some updates, including an f-head. Unusual windshield.
“I have a built trail rig. It’s a 1949 CJ2A that has an upgraded F Head engine, 3 speed with overdrive, internal lockers both axels, hubs on all 4 wheels. It has the PTO but nothing hooked to it. Custom roll bar where all wiring and switches were routed up top. Bikini top, it has a warn 9500lb winch in the pics which I’m keeping however I have a PTO winch if you want to try and mount it and hook it all up. Mounts on the back for gas cans and more. A tough little Jeep that has a lot of life left in her. It will be a great trail or hunting rig. I will consider half cash and half trade.”
