ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK THE VIN … THIS WAS A FUN ONE: The seller noted on ebay that this is a ’57, but it has the older, pre’57 dash.  That raised a flag.  So, I looked closely at the VIN:  The first set of numbers are 55268 instead of 453 GB2. That VIN actually belongs to a 1956 Pickup Truck 6 cyl (226 ci) with 4wd with a serial number of 33836.  See this service bulletin for the details.

“Very original Willys CJ3B. No body lift, original 4cyl engine, manual lockers on front, 3 speed trans. Color is Red, original upolstry in great shape and this has rear bench seat. Tool box under passenger seat. 4 good tires – spare is for decoration. Has AM/FM cassette and Jensen speakers under dash on firewall. Top is serviceable. No Bondo.”

Unusual paint job with the corner accents.

“Restored 1953 CJ3B Willys. New brakes all the way around, new muffler system, extra NDTmilitary tires, new mud tires on vehicle and new navy gray leather seats in front and back. Vehicle is painted in navy gray. Tire chains come with vehicle. Lots of extra’s included.”

“Willys Jeep CJ-3B , Rebuilt Original 4 cylinder Drivetrain, Original 6 volt elec. System. Added 6 volt electric fuel pump. many new parts and new tires. It’s been in my family for over 40 years. 37,000 Miles, always kept indoors. My Mechanic says it needs to be driven more and I don’t have the time anymore for play. I believe this is an ideal candidate for a total restoration to its original military appearance, which would at the least double it’s value, by ebay research.”
