Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Original 44,000 mile tuxedo park mark iv. Great running jeep with pto winch. Dauntless 225 v6, t86 transmission with Dana 18 transfer case. Has body rust been from the Midwest. Transmission needs new input shafts bearing. Other than that and body work it’s in pretty good shape.
Selling it because in the middle of restoring a 64 and 79, not really wanting todo this one aswell.

“I have bitten off more than I can chew. I picked this CJ up last fall with the full intention of fixing and restoring it. Times have changed and now that I have a newborn at home the Jeep isn’t high on my priorities anymore.
The guy I bought it from said that the Jeep was running when it was parked approx 15 years ago. I was told that the body was removed and the frame was fixed and coated to prevent deterioration. The original body (’69) is the red one. The body that is currently sitting on the frame is a ’70 or a ’71. I had the option of taking the original body or leaving it, I took it so that I would have the original VIN plate. I have the original doors, hood and grill.
Any questions, please ask. I MAY be willing to part it out for the right price.”

This jeep has an unusual shovel holder on the cowl.
“1958 Jeep CJ-5, Hurricane 4 cylinder engine on it runs great! Comes with removable tow bar, roll bar, is a real classic and turns heads. Also great for hunting and fishing! Tow it to your favorite spot and go into all the places your truck won’t be able to go. Everything is original. I will also include an extra over size rim.
I’ve seen what’s out there and on eBay for similar vehicles so price is firm. Let me know if you have any questions or are interests in taking it out for a test drive.”
