Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1953 Willys Military M38A1 Jeep, comes with a trailer and a 53-55 CJ with good drivetrain for parts.
The M38 has new brakes, tires, fuel tank, floor, and a lot more.
RUNS GOOD.
All military lights are still there, Very solid Jeep.
The trailer is a 1947 model updated with lights, minimal rust.
All 3 for $7500 firm.”
The tilt-hood on this CJ-5 project was a surprise.
“1957 Willys/Jeep CJ5 with Dana 44 Rear, Dana 25 rear. Tub in fair shape, some surface rust and 1 small rot spot on the front pass tub. Rear cross member cut by previous owner. I recently purchased it and decided to go a different direction. No Title. Part out.”

This running CJ-5 with a half cab may be worth a look.
“I am selling my 1957 willys jeep. Has overhead valve 4 cyl. Starts right up runs smooth. Transmission and transfercase shift smoothly. All the lights work. Has a cab on it with heater. I have a clean title for it. It does need some brake work they are spongy. Body is in fair condition paint is cracking. This jeep will run around 50 mph its fun to drive and is a lot more dependable that those little jap trucks and its a lot cheaper than a side-by-side.”

Seems like there may be value here. It’s supposed to have a rear PTO, but nothing protrudes from the back.

“Selling a 1965 Kaiser Jeep CJ-5 Willys. It has a chevy 327 V8 with edelbrock performer top end kit. 3-speed manual transmission. External 20 gallon fuel tank. Dana front and rear differentials with a Dana Transfer-case. Runs great but need a little work but to be expected for a 50 year old jeep. I am asking $3000 obo with the title in hand. “Equipped with a chevy 4.3 TBI engine, 3 speed shuttle shift transmission, Twin stick Dana 20 transfercase and a Dana 44 rearend. The frame is solid, it has a rollbar, the half cab and aluminum diamond plate clad body make this a one of a kind vehicle. I haven’t driven it in 2 years so it is out of inspection, I believe all it will need is a brake master cylinder”

Here’s a solid looking early CJ-5.
“This old Jeep runs great.
It is mostly all original. It has the “F” head engine, a hydraulic snow plow and PTO operated winch. The engine was rebuilt in 1993 and the plow and beefed up suspension were added in 1998. It has HI / LOW range, 4 wheel drive, and a three speed manual transmission. The transmission is in great shape and does not slip. There is little rust on the body. The interior seats are in good shape and are not torn. The cab is removable as well. ”

Gauges and lights don’t work. I only drive it on the farm. I haven’t messed with it honestly. It’s probably just a bulb or fuse.
It’s temperamental, but It starts right up and drives most the time.
It needs some cosmetic work, but it’s a fun Jeep to drive around.
I don’t have the time to enjoy it.
This Jeep has been a Farm Jeep for 40 years. It is not in “Show Car” condition. It has mud tires and a winch.
This could be a great restored Jeep or a great Jeep to drive around town. ”
