Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “So, this has been in my family for quite a while. Believe my great grandpa ‘created’ this back in the 80’s and would mainly use it as a hunting vehicle. To my understanding mostly all the exterior is fiberglass, cab space is mainly sheet metal, engine and chassis are from an old jeep (willys jeep or jeep CJ) sometime in the 1940’s-60’s. Price is OBO, if you think you have any info on the chassis and engine based on the pictures let me know, I would like to learn more about it myself. Have the cylinder head and other parts but are in kind of rough shape as you could assume”
Update: As John points out, the body, chassis and fenders aren’t from ‘55.
The Meyer half cab might be in good shape. Hard to tell what shape the body is in.

“1971 CJ5 jeep renegade 1
17,400 miles original orange paint. One owner had for many years used to plow snow only. Factory ordered hard top and dealer installed snow plow. Body is in excellent condition with only surface rust in places. original tires appear to have been recapped. Original pin stripe seats, dauntless V-6. 3 speed manual with warn overdrive. Amazing survivor collector piece”
This has one of the odder front bumpers I’ve seen. The jeep appears to be solid with a Beck or Kelly hardtop. Note what may be a King Seeley 0-8 speedo.

“Very nice 1955 Jeep cj5 with the original F head engine 3 speed manual and aftermarket locking front hubs. Shifts smooth and runs great all gueges seem to work and have done a partial rebuild on the engine, with 2 new pistons and new head gasket along with a new valve cover gasket electric wiper and fuel pump installed. Let me know if you have any questions, and I am open to offers, just let me know.”
This looks to be a 1970 body or later given the rear fuel inlet. Are those summer hubs? I can’t tell for sure.

“Late 60’s CJ5 PROJECT for sale. Very fixable tub with a great frame that has been cleaned and painted. New aluminum radiator, new soft touch clutch, timing set, rear main seal as well as oil pan gasket. Have swing pedals and power steering setup that will go with it as well as gas tank and heater. Also have the side glass for top.”
This CJ-5 was modified to dig post holes.

“This is a highly modified Jeep designed to dig post holes. It’s a 78 CJ5, in running order and comes with a 6″, 9″, and 12″ auger. I think it can dig as deep as 6′. The best part about this design for digging holes, is the passenger seat faces backwards and has all the controls for driving.”
