Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. There is some value and it looks pretty bone stock. I think it has a rear PTO.

If the VIN is original to the body, then this is a 1958 DJ-3A rather than a 1940s CJ-2A. Not that it really matters, as there’s not much here (except for a good VIN plate).
‘Hello, I am selling a rusty 1940s vintage willys.. Either complete or just selling some parts.. Overall its pretty rusted/shot however It does have the orignal rear end as well as many other parts.. Maggie Mae discovered this terribly sad wagon. This poor thing is now sitting in her driveway. However, looks can be deceiving. It turns out it has a part she has been trying to find. Also, upon closer inspection, she reports the frame appears in good shape.
She writes, “In my defense, it was ‘free for haul away’ and has the 2 barrel manifold I’ve been searching for. The floor is just a couple inches shy of the bottom of the windows, it actually looks a bit better than it should in the back end because of the homemade spring hangers/lift kit. Yes, the grille guard is a piece scaffolding. The gas tank had rusted through and was replaced with a beer keg that was “mounted” on 2×4’s where the passenger rear seat should have been.”

“Don’t laugh. This is a great parts Jeep. Frame;vin plate/Maryland title in my name; both axles; 4 rims; windshield frame & wiper motors/mirror arm; rear hitch; side mounted gas can holder; transmission/transfer case/bellhousing with all shift levers; grille with headlight buckets and trim chrome rings; steering wheel with complete column; frt seat frames (feet need some minor work); rear driveshaft; shocks w/special washers; various body panels could be used as replacement parts; footman loops; and etc.
The body panel laying in the back does-not go with this Jeep. I figured up over $2000 in parts, if parted out. I’m just tired of moving it from place to place. Its time someone else enjoyed it or used it for parts. BE PREPARED TO TRAILER IT HOME!”
