1953 M-38A1 Stewart Warner Heater & Instructions
I spotted this ten page Stewart Warner 978 heater Instruction manual on eBay. Then I found what I believe is the actual heater itself. Seems like a neat combo.
Here’s the heater: It is a Southwind Stewart Warner 978 M heater. This looks to be for a 6V vehicle though.
Mitch’s CJ-6 Diesel Tackles the Naches Pass
Not many updates tonight. I sprained my finger playing basketball today, so typing is a bit slow.
This weekend Mitch Carter and the Wandering Willys Jeep Club drove the Naches Pass. Normally, Mitch would take his M-38 over the pass, but this time Mitch drove his recently purchased (out of a field) rare Perkin’s powered 1966 CJ-6 for its inaugural jeep trip.
You can see from these photos posted in August that his jeep wan’t quite ready to go jeeping when he bought it. However, over the past couple of months his got the jeep back into running shape. Then he added some new wheels and tires. Great work Mitch! The jeep looks good and it appears you had a fun run.
Craigs’ Pic of the Week: A Mule
M-38A1 in the Blue Ridge Mountains
My son Karson will be in Virginia another week before ending heading back to Sacramento where he completes his FEMA/Americorps experience. During his travels this past year he’s introduced a variety of people to eWillys (well done!). This weekend he was hiking with friends in the Blueridge Mountains where he spotted this M-38A1 on a trailer all by itself.
FC-170 Steel Truck Photo on eBay
How about this cool photo.
“This 8″ x 10″ B&W Glossy Photo of the Edgcomb Steel Jeep Truck was taken in Philadelphia in 1962. The photo remains in good condition, exhibiting only light signs of vintage wear (faint crease marks, etc.).”
How Many RAF Men Can Fit On a Jeep?
