About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Steve shared this one. There’s some work to be done, but it looks like the foundation is good.
“I have a 1972 jeep commando I’m looking to sell or trade. It’s a straight six with a three speed. The jeep doesn’t need much more done to be road worthy, mostly a tune up. The brakes and lines are all new. New gas tank. The rockers have some putty. Frame has been wire brushed and painted with chassis saver. The repaint someone did awhile ago isn’t all that great. Floors are still pretty solid. I have a 1973 parts commando with title that will go with at the asking price. That has a 304v8 but it’s locked up. Has the beefier transmissions. Asking $4000 for everything listed.
May consider trades for ford model a or Willys parts.”
“1950 willys jeepster. 350 4- volt, headman headers, Mallory built ignition, Elderbrock carb. Bought it 25 years ago and have just run out if funds to complete. It needs some TLC. I am asking 7,500.00 cash or some cash plus trade for a decent size SUV that will fit our family. (Like a dodge durango). Emails only please. I will respond promptly. Also if you would like to see more pics please let me know.”
“1948 Willys Jeepster (1st year made)
Owner for last 30 years in San Diego.
No heavy rust. Just a little surface rust here and there.
Runs great.
Fun to drive.
Currently has carburated low milage 2.8 liter V6 engine with automatic transmission from 1985 Camaro; installed 25 years ago.
Original flathead 4 cylinder and 3 speed transmission and all other underhood engine components (ie radiator, generator, etc) come with sale. Was in working condition when removed.
Gets lots of looks and comments.”
Dan shared this one. It’s a rare body and a project for sure.
“1971 Jeep Commando (Hurst Edition) this is a very rare body, one of 100 built. No rust, waiting for someone to finish. Has Dana 44’s with lockers and new gears, never run (not sure of gearing) it’s a project I bought and never got to. Clear title, no engine, transmission or transfer case. $2000”
“This is an exceptionally well preserved 1950 Jeepster. Original everything, but runs well and starts easily. If you are looking for a classic you can have fun with now, or if you want to restore it to a “like new” condition, this is the Jeepster for you. Comes with the original radio and heater. Floor matts appear to be original.
I can’t tell if the paint is original, but it does appear that the original color was red (Firewall is red) . The cowl is black, and looks great, but does not seem to be original. Top and side curtains are usable, but need to be replaces. The body is very solid. I can’t find evidence of repair, bond-o, rust issues, etc.
I don’t know a lot about the car’s history. It most recently had a Kansas title, and I was told it spent many years in use as a parade car. Continue reading →
“This antique Jeepster was stored in a barn for 38 years. Since I acquired it last year it has been recommissioned mechanically and cosmetically. It is now titled and is fun to drive around town. It has a push button starter on the floor and is a 3 on the column standard shift with a cable operated Overdrive. This convertible with side curtains comfortably rolls along at 40 to 50 mph and seats up to 6.
It has a new fuel tank and sender, reman fuel pump and carb, new wide white wall tires, brakes, exhaust, shocks and a complete new wiring harness. The black interior, top and carpeting are in reasonably good used condition. The paint is patch work of touch ups but the result is a comfortable usable finish like your favorite set of jeans. If you are serious about buying this Jeepster I will take you out for a drive.”
