“On sale is a 1952 Willys Jeep model M38 in pretty good condition considering it’s age. This is a military, not civilian version even though previous owner repainted it to red color. It’s mostly original, excepted a few things including 12v system and electric fuel pump. Engine runs strong, transmission, 4 wheel drive and braking systems all work well. Very new tires in original spec.
I have this jeep for two years, and have done a few things to the jeep:
– Rebuilt carburetor
– Restored braking system
– Replace fuel pump”
This project has a civilian or replacement body.

UPDATE: This went quick. Was $1500.
Appears to have good restoration potential with some known history.
“1950 Willy’s M38. NOT RUNNING. All parts are there though. I bought it from the gentleman who brought it home from the Korean War after he served his time and bought it from the military. Clean title, in my name. My plan was to rebuild it (as I have done with a previous CJ2a) but other time commitments take priority. Engine turns over, as do the wheels. Not shown in the photos are the seats, gas tank, rear bench seat, windshield/glass and some other parts.”
UPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was $10,000

UPDATE: Was $3000. **Status Unknown**
(09/05/2014) This is a rolling, but not running chassis.
“I have for sale an m38 rolling chassis for sale, it has been restored from the ground up. The frame, axles, brakes, engine, transmission, transfer case, electrical, steering, wiring and other parts. This was done by the previous owner. The engine was bored .030 over. There has been no lubricants put in any of this. It does have original rims that have not been restored and the tires are not new.”
This is a one-owner M-38 purchased at auction in 1953. Learn more about it at Hanson Mechanical.
