Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “M-38 Willys Army Jeep with pioneering kit, spare tires, jerry can, rifle rack, 2 radios, trailer, canvas…From USA to Forestry Service (dropped a valve) to CAF to me. I rebuilt the engine and replaced the gas tank and tank well, painted and added new canvas and wiring harness, added the radios and etc., found a trailer…all about 10 years ago. Stored in Frederick, OK, and used with the Airborne Demonstration Team ( wwiiadt.org ) activities, displays, parades…”

(01/30/2013) This is a M-38 body on a 1946 CJ-2A frame and possibly drive train.
“Original 4 cylinder engine, runs well. M-38 Military body, Midnight blue 1950s model (not 1940s), no rust, garage-kept. New large tires, new rims. Tow bar and hitch with additional frame support for towing. Full canvas cover, seats in good condition with rear bench seat. New brakes and battery. Four wheel drive. No locking hubs or roll bar.
