Here’s a rare Canadian version of the M-38 built by Ford. Nicely restored rig.
“Buy a part of history. 1952 M38CDN Willys Jeep. One of only 2,135 assembled by Ford Motor Co. in Ontario, Canada. Completly rebuilt L134 “Go Devil” flathead engine. All new military components. Original 24V electrical system. New clutch, rebuilt carb, rebuilt fuel/vac pump. New brake lines, shoes, drums and wheel cylinders . Three speed T90 transmission. Relined fuel tank with new sending unit and in tank filter. This Jeep still has the original body which shows normal wear and tear. Original canvas top, side curtains and doors (in fairly rough shape). 46,892 miles with only 1,200 on motor. Comes with pioneering tools, one set of original military tire chains, manuals and the opportunity to drive through history. More photos are available upon request.”
I wonder if it runs?
“1952 Willy Jeep. Needs work but lots of potential for the right buyer

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5500.
Well, besides the fact that M-38s weren’t made in 1949, this doesn’t look anything like a M-38. Given what appears to be full floaters in the rear and no drain hole in the side, I’d guess this is more of a CJ-2A/MB hybrid.
“This is a nice m38 Willys jeep. I have the full top and also bikini top for it. I just had the starter rebuilt and relaxed the starter sylenoid. It runs and drives good and the 4 wheel drive works great. This is a original m38 and still has the floor bracket for a heavy machine gun mount. I also have a original set of Willys wheels with military tires and brand new tubes that go with it.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
This looks like a nice M-38.
“This jeep was just completed, it runs and drives. The motor was gone through and is in good working order.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was no price.
There are a mix of parts and rolling frames.
“1942 TO 1952
WILLYS JEEP
PLUS 4 PARTS JEEPS”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3800
This has a M-38 windshield and I think it has a glove box on the dash, too, so I think it is a M-38 rather than the CJ-3A indicated by the seller. Or, it is a mix of parts.
“66K Miles. Decent condition. Comes with Tow Bar & Soft Top. Less than 500 miles traveled in last 10 years. Runs great; but, needs brake work.”
UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was priced at $1600.
This runs.
“I HAVE THIS 1952 M38 MILITARY JEEP FOR SALE. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL ALUMINUM WINTER TOP WITH DATA PLATE, ORIGINAL MC ENGINE, RADIATOR. BRAKES DO NOT WORK. THE ENGINE RUNS WITH NO SMOKE BUT HAS A RATTLE FROM THE TAPPETS. I DO HAVE A CLEAR TITLE FOR THIS JEEP. I CAN SEND MORE PICTURES UPON REQUEST.”
The windshield is CJ-2A, but much of the rest looks M-38 to me.
“I have some willys flat fender parts front clip, both seat frames, gas tank, roll bar, has 2 front dana 27 axles and 1 dana 44 rear axle. No motor no tranny no transfer case. The windshield frame is rusted out around the windows and in pretty rough shape. Lots of misc. parts, steering colums, spring packs. Also I have what i think is a original through the floor starter for the L134 thats in good shape i can send that pic upon request. I can send pics of other parts not in the pictures via text message if desired. If your interested in anything make me an offer. Jeremiah 360-433-8051”
It doesn’t run.
