About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“This 1947 Willys Jeep CJ2A has been well taken care of and runs great. It was made to run through almost any terrain. A jeep this nice is hard to find at this price. No need to restore. It also comes with a tandem trailer built specifically for this jeep. It also comes with a complete top including doors.”
Matt wrote me today, letting me know that there’s a raffle for a M-100 trailer at Midwestmilitary.net. Tickets are $20. Proceeds go to help Gary Wirth’s hospital expenses, a result of his battle with cancer. The drawing will be held December 7, 2013. You can purchase a ticket here: http://www.midwestmilitary.net/raffle.html
“This trailer was donated for raffle by Al and Kelly Lehmann. They had it totally restored by Gary Wirth last fall. It was totally dismantled and rebuilt, including new bearings, brakes, wiring and tires.
Painted in 24087 color scheme. This trailer was not rusty before it was restored. It was a super clean trailer that came from a local city garage that always kept it inside. We have the original data plates and a new set of reproduction plates that will be added soon. Date of delivery is 10/52 and serial number 382368. The original manufacturer was Dunbar-Kapple. Between the cost of purchasing the trailer and the restoration, there is over $3000.00 invested. The wiining ticket holder will be responsible for picking up the trailer or shipping expenses. We can help with the shipping arrangements, so don’t let that stop you from purchasing a chance to win this beautiful piece of history.”
“1952 M100 military jeep trailer. Good condition, has new canvas and tie downs, as well as a two inch adapter with adjustable pintle hook. Has original data plates and a title.”
The price is low. Unclear how much value his here.
“I have a Willys Jeep trailer from the 50’s or 60’s it is the civilian model not the military one. It would be good for parts or restoration, let me stress that fact. It would need some welding and body work to make it nice again or you could use it for parts, it has good 16 in rims and the trailer landing gear. I do not have the tailgate for it. Make an offer I have no use for the trailer so i would like to see a jeep guy get it and do something with it. If you are interested email me a number i can reach you at, no number no response, just avoiding scams and other bs, thanks for looking.”
Based on the metal plate in the middle of the tailgate, I’m going to guess this is a Ben Hur Trailer. The Sears David Bradley Trailer looks very similar. I don’t not believe the fenders are original. The earlycj5.net site has a great page on the Ben Hur / David Bradley models. Does anyone know if the Ban Hur letters on the rear of the trailer are original?
“I have a Military WW 2 Ben Hur 1/2 ton trailer for sale that needs to be restored.Roughly 4 x 6. Similar to the M416 army trailer, but larger. Great for the farm.
$800.00 firm.
This model has a factory tailgate.”
(09/15/2013) Here’s a trailer that should interest someone.
“1942 Willys MBT 1/4 ton military trailer. Trailer needs restoration but has original tags, a unique rebuild plate, and is a pretty straight restorable project. More pictures are available Asking $1600”
“Runs great – recently on the road at 55 MPH. Newer canvas top. Five combat wheels. Seats in great shape. A parade vehicle for years – generates lots of smiles! Tow bar and Jerry can included. Amateur restoration – body has some fiberglass repair in floor. Gas gauge not currently working. Turn signals have been added. Located in the Pacific Northwest, 1 hour north of Seattle. Will show by appointment.”
