Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Rob forwarded me the jeep below. It’s an odd melding of a CJ-2A and a Wagon. I’d love to get a closer look to see how various problems were solved.
This jeep is one of several jeeps in different conditions being auctioned, though nothing is in amazing condition. Tools and other vehicles will also be auctioned, including a deuce and a half that looks to me (not being an expert) in very good condition.

“This Jeep is a chick magnet, 8 hot girls have wanted to be my friends in responce to my ad.
Exalant project jeep 49 delivery wagon on a 57 chassis. Needs to be put together. Has 2 hoods and grills, It had wooden signs on it because in 49 there were sign painters everywhere but not custom truck painters. I got this jeep as a project but had Kidney failer in January and may now never get to it. I know it needs the drivers door glass wing and rollup all other glass is good. Needs wiper moter.I havn’t gone through it to see what else it needs. is setup for sbc350 (has one in it but prably only good for a core). Axles are jeep but look redone along with chassis Has front and rear bumpers origonal trans and t-case.”

“63 Willys Jeep for sale. It is a two door station wagon with a small block chevy engine, pto driven winch. It dose run and drive but the reason it is cheap $575.00 is there is no title so sold as a parts car or scrap metal.”

(03/25/2012) What happens when you put a wagon body on a 1/4 ton chassis? Well, this appears to be one example.
“I am not sure on exact year or if there is even an exact year. It is titled as a 2004 assembled and needs to be inspected before going on the road. This thing is a bit ugly. It is basiccilly a shortened Willys Wagon. The motor is a Chevy 6 cylinder so it should be an easy candidate for a SBC swap. Right now it does run and drive pretty good for the age but will need some brake work. It is not something that you are goinmg to buy and drive home from here. I bought it thinking I should have one more project jeep but there is no way that I am going to do anything with it. I did not build it so I do not know a whole lot about it. It does have the OEM Willys running gear. Tires hold air pretty good but they are rough. Buy it now and have a different ride for the holiday weekend at Silver Lake. The body work is rough and the side panles were welded on but never ground down or filled in so it definitely looks rough.”
