Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
The rims are a 1970s style, but they look in such good shape, I can’t tell if they are restored or not. The early Free-Lock hubs have been nicely restored.
(02/14/2019) Looks like a nice build. I believe the windshield bulge allows the use of a CJ-5-style windshield wiper motor; A friend of mine did something similar with his flattie. I’ve never seen a hinged windshield quite like that.

“This is a ground-up build Willys Flat Fender rock crawler. It is a big project, if you want to finish it you better be capable of fabricating, as there is a lot left to do. I’m selling it for LESS than what I have into the parts alone.

This particular item was poorly marketed on eBay. Only one page was shown and no description of the number of pages was included. I took a chance and it turned out to be a great piece for only $13!!
This article from the March 28, 1945, issue of the Farmers’ Weekly Review highlights the mobile welding capabilities of the wartime jeep. The article also notes that the Army tested the jeep on a 500-mile obstacle course before approving it.
Welding Shop on Wheels Is Big Help Emergency Repairs Made on Field of Battle .
NEW YORK . — A highly mobile welding shop on wheels that can traverse ground which proved impassable to most previous maintenance vehicles has been developed by General Electric, in cooperation with army engineers, to enable emergency repairs of damaged war equipment to be made right on the field of battle, the company disclosed . Consisting of a standard army jeep bearing a specially perfected G-E arc welder, this mobile repair shop, according tc army reports , has proved invaluable in helping to keep front line equipment in fighting condition. In weight the G-E welder jeep is equivalent to a one-quarter ton truck, whereas the equipment it replaced consisted of a five-ton truck towing a one and one-half ton welding trailer. This weight reduction, plus the jeep s great maneuverability, enables the vehicle to readily negotiate rugged or muddy ground where larger and heavier trucks broke down. When desired for use in air borne operations it can also be loaded aboard a transport plane
Power to operate the welding unit is obtained by means of a V-belt which is connected to the engine of the jeep. As soon as the vehicle is brought to a stop the unit can be put in use. Proper engine speed is maintained by a governor, quickly disengaged to permit normal operation of the jeep. The welding unit is installed in place of the right front seat of the jeep, allowing the vehicle to carry a crew of three -men comfortably. Before accepting the welder jeep for service the army subjected it to rigid tests on a 500-mile obstacle course, the same course on which combat tanks are tested, and it came through with flying colors .”

“1959 Willy’s FC150 with title. Runs and drives. Still needs some work here and there but overall a very nice example of this classic little truck. I have owned this for several years and have countless hours into the restoration. My intent was to leave it in some patina with a stout look. Here is a list of things I have done.
Rebuilt corners and windshield frame ( rust repair)

New wire harness, built from scratch with fuse block, shrink wrapped and in woven loom
Frame cleaned and painted.

I have many original parts that still need to be cleaned and installed to include glove box, heater box, windshield wipers seat frames and more. All the lights work, including the rare turn signal switch. The dash was painted in base-clear before assembly. The interior dog house, roof and doors need to be painted. I have an original interior door panel for a pattern. There is much more I’m sure. Please, serious inquires only.
In full disclosure, it has been in storage and now has a backfire. I may get to looking at it and tune it, but I may not.”
Thanks to Nick for spotting this garage sale. It occurred last weekend, but maybe some jeeps remain. The FC has potential. The yellow DJ-3A appears to have been a cargo loader.
