About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Started life as a 1951 M38 Willys Jeep. Has a Buick V6 engin, runs but needs work “ radiator rebuild, water pump, brakes, etc.” This is a project vehicle selling as is.”
“Runs and drives, newer chevy 4 cyl., power steering.
Looking for a possible trade for tractor accessories—backhoe, tiller, etc, atv, or make me an offer if you’ve got something interesting.”
“The pictures speak for themselves, no engine. The frame is straight and solid, while the body is in decent condition for an almost 70 y/o vehicle. Some small rust areas, but shouldn’t be a big issue for the right person with fabricating skills. There’s no title.
Feel free to check it out, but $1,000 is the lowest it will be advertised for.”
(02/09/2019) I think the trailer shown (though covered by a tarp) isn’t included in the price. The jeep hasn’t been run in a couple decades.
“World War II Trailer is also available. (Bought together the price is cheaper). Jeep has removable aluminum hardtop, back seat, tow bar, tow balls, roll bar, windshield. Needs brake work and some body work. Two speed Hi / Lo and a 3 or 4 speed on the floor. Running when parked in a barn 20 years ago. This Jeep was registered to run on public highways until put on a Non-Op with DMV many years ago. Does not need SMOG inspection or certification, ever. Clean and Clear title.”
“You can buy a ticket to bring your transmission to the show (friday) and tear it down alongside Joe Deyoung, then rebuild it Saturday with parts supplied by Novak. A local transmission shop is going to hot tank it for us friday afternoon. We even have a selection of gears on hand in case new ones are needed.
Alternatively, you can buy a ticket to win the T90 joe is building. Winner need not be present for that, we can ship on the winner’s dime.”
UPDATE: This is a SCAM. This was a reply one reader received.
“I’m Janice, glad to see you are interested! The price is $13,100. This belonged to my husband and after he passed away I decided to sell it. I moved at my daughter because I had a throat surgery and I’ll stay here for at least a few months. I’m located in Sioux City, IA. I have signed a contract with eBay to take care of the selling on my behalf. It is already at the shipping company here in Sioux City sealed and ready for the shipping. The deal includes free delivery and it will arrive at your address in 7-9 days, depending on the exact location. You will have 5 days to try out prior to making any purchase and if by any reason you find something you don’t like about it you can send it back at my expense.”
“Kept immaculate,
Runs and drives beautifully,
Highly restored,
No accidents,
3 speed column,
Radio and heater,
Overdrive,
5 new WW tires,
Side curtains,”
Contact Guy at 605-281-0633. He prefers a text first because of the solicitors that call. There’s a trailer that also goes with it.
“1952 with a started frame off, had the frame sandblasted, primed and painted. New springs, shocks, brakes to include drums and slave cylinders. Rebuilt original engine with a new OEM head, rebuilt transmission and transfer care. Rear axle rebuilt and have all the parts for the front axle. 5 new tire on painted rims, Pintle hitch and d-rings for safety chains, plus lots of new part for engine and body.
The body is in great shape and complete with original heater core and gauges. Plus a 1/4 ton trailer goes with. All stored out of the elements.”
This brochure came from eBay. I’m guessing it was published sometime in 1956, given it describes both the DJ-3A and the CJ-6 as new models. The brochure folds out horizontally.
“This invention relates to scraper blades of the bulldozer type such as used in leveling or pushing snow, dirt and the like, and in particular a blade mounting for removably attaching a blade to the front of a Jeep or the like wherein the elevation of the blade is readily adjustable and in which the blade is hinged and resiliently held to provide tilting movement when the lower edge of the blade engages a fixed obstruction.”
