Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This December 29, 1950, ad in the Evening Star promoted Sligo Motors, Inc, a new Willys-Overland dealer. Note the Willys-Overland service sign in the lower left corner. I don’t think I’ve seen that one.

(05/13/2019) Matt’s made some progress on this 3B project, but he needs to let it go. It has the L-head installed, but he does have the F-head still.
“Up for sale I have a 1955 Willys CJ3B project. This is a project that I started and have run out of time for. The chassis is finished…running, driving and stopping including a complete paint job with chassis saver, new shocks, brakes, steering components and a motor tune up. The engine is an earlier flat head (L head) engine rather than the original overhead valve (F head). Still a great running engine. I do have an original F head engine I could swap into it if you really want originality. T90 three speed transmission and D18 transfer case work perfectly. The pto system that is pictured on the frame is no longer on it.
This Jeep is at the point where it needs body and paint work. The body has been patched and strengthened but needs finish welding and grinding to be ready for paint. All of the sheet metal is currently just sitting on the frame nothing is bolted down. It is not drivable the way it sits.
I have 95% of everything for it the only things you need to get are seats, new tires, windshield gasket, hardware such as nuts and bolts and possibly a better tailgate. All of the small parts that arent pictured are in boxes in my garage and I can tell you exactly where everything is.
Body tags are intact and it is sold with a bill of sale only. No title. If you are in CT thats not a problem. If you are interested give me a call or text and I can answer any more questions you may have. I am asking $3000. I have more into the chassis than that. I may consider trades for other early flatfender Jeeps preferably ones with original paint. If the ad is still posted, it is still available. Thank you

Looks like mostly surface rust.
Early CJ hardtop (was on a ‘55). Good condition, rear door glass cracked. Doors are good with good glass. Have an extra set of doors to choose from. If asking price is met, you can have both sets of doors.”

“1943 Jeep under restoration will need short block. Have all the pans,head,manifolds,carb,an air cleaner. New starter, radiator was redone gas tank coated inside.
