Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (08/28/2018) This body sits on a CJ-7 chassis. The long chassis means the grill is moved forward. The fenders have been moved forward as well and, though it’s not easy to see, there must be a filler piece between the cowl and the fenders.
“for sale $12,000.00 obo this is a 51′ cj3a mounted on a 80′ cj7 chassis. 65′ 289ci v8, t-90 tranny, t-18 transfercase, warn overdrive. 12 forward gears, 4 reverse. rebuilt axels, frt is a dana 30 w/disc brakes, rear is a dana 44 offset diff w/flange axels 4:11 gears. fresh paint, bucket seats, new tiger soft top, six point frame mounted roll cage. kc lights, convex high output headlamps, new alum radiator. power steering, manual brakes. drive shaft park brake, hand control rear brake. hand throttle control. wired front/rear for receiver mount winch. 39gal fuel capacity. swingout spare tire mount. cab heater w/defrost. cj7 wiring.”

(08/20/2018) When you need to fit the radiator, just cut the hood!
“First generation of mass produced consumer Jeeps/Willys. This is a project vehicle. It currently has a Buick v6 swap in it (super common, it’s what jeep used from the factory in the 60’s and gives a substantial power upgraded from the sluggish 60hp inline 4). I’m not sure if it runs or not, never got around to testing it. Dried coolant around one of the heads leads me to believe it will need a rebuild. Odometer reads around 50k miles, not sure when the swap was completed though. Rust is minimal considering the vehicles age. The worst in the standard spots under the driver seat and near the side rails. Body’s straight, shows no signs of ever being in an accident. Clean title in hand.”

“Complete frame off restoration was done starting in 2008. New reproduction body was purchased from Willys Overland in Toledo, OH. All drive train components, springs, transmission, engine, etc were either professionally rebuilt and or replaced-all receipts come with purchase. Body and paint work were done by auto body professional in a authentic Luzon Red with harvest yellow rims and accent paint. This vehicle has been driven less than 500 miles since restoration was completed in 2009. I’m regretfully selling this jeep since I have 4 others and I need to part with some of them due family obligations and a major house renovation. It is as stock new as it was it came off the factory floor and is ready for the beach, the mountains, the ranch or the farm.”
It’s powered by an f-head. Looks solid.

“For Sale: All Original 1948 CJ-2A Willy’s Jeep All stock, numbers matching, still running and driving. 3 speed transmission works great and 4×4 works fantastic. Motor burns a little oil on startup due to old rings Was used on family farm since the 1960’s, stored in barn. Needs some TLC, but everything is there. Some parts are worn due to being 70+ years old. Exterior has been wire wheeled and painted, interior has been bedlined. Needs new tires and steering pitman arm to be road safe. Would be a really cool wheeler build or a great restoration project, I just don’t have a shop to work on it in. Clean title, has WA collector plates. Will need to be trailered”
