“This Willys Jeep is an 1948 CJ2a. The “a” stands for agriculture, it was post-war Jeep’s first model made for the civilian market.

It has a mid-mount PTO, and the original flathead engine was replaced by the next series, the Hurricane motor with overhead valves. That’s why the carburetor cover sticks through the hood. No power steering. One seat belt

It has new brakes, carb, windshield glass and seals, seat covers and cushions, and runs good.”

1952 CJ-3A? Nutley, NJ $9500

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3A • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

This appears to be a CJ-3A.

https://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/d/1952-willys-jeep/6646932077.html

“This is a 1952 Willys Jeep, its rust free and was redone to look like a military model. It runs great but needs some brake work. Im in the process of doing some brake work and if not it can be reflected on the final price. This is one tough durable jeep and they have a good history behind these jeeps. This jeep has been gerage kept after its restoration. Its in better shape than others that are asking thousands more. It also comes with a fitted cover.”

(05/22/2018) It’s a project.

“Willys FC170…unk year between 1957-1964
This project is fairly complete although the bed is missing (hey, that just means you can go whatever direction you like). Original gauges and mfg ser# plate are gone. Everything else appears to be there. The frame and drivetrain are intact with the original 6cyl Super Hurricane motor.

Wheels have been sandblasted and painted. Brand new front windshield (difficult to source). Cab is off the frame as shown and it’s just about ready to be sandblasted.”

The bottom is a more familiar photo. I can’t remember if I’ve seen the top one.

“1940- Ford Pygmy during testing at Camp Holabird. The Ford Pygmy is the pilot vehicle submitted by Ford Motor Company in response to the U.S. Army’s requirement for a “light reconnaissance and command car” during the military buildup prior to World War II. It is the only known survivor of the original pilot vehicles built by Bantam, Willys, and Ford and tested by the Army. Photo measures approx. 6 3/4″ x 8 3/4″ ”

“1948 Willys CJ2A.
Jeep has several updates including rebuilt T-90 transmission, new clutch and new brake lines. Repro steering wheel, carb and electric fuel pump.
Motor runs good, has good compression and doesn’t smoke. Transmission shifts good and does not pop out of second gear like may of this era with worn tranny parts. The 9-inch shoe brakes stop, but could use some more adjusting or an upgrade.
The body overall is in great shape but hat channels could use some attention.
Comes with a semi-rare and working Ramsey front PTO winch.
When new, these Jeeps were marketed as somewhere between a truck and a tractor, so if you’re expecting a old Jeep that rides like a slightly used Wrangler, this isn’t for you. But if you’re looking for an excellent restoration candidate that’s very similar to what won World War II, consider this one.
Converted to 12 volt with alternator.
Pics without top are older. Pic of jeep rear does not show drawbar and hitch that is now mounted and included.
Needs some tweaking but it’s a running, driving, stopping project.
$4800 or will consider good offer. Not interested in trades at this time. I don’t need to sell, just have too many projects/toys.
Clear title.

Four cylinder, 60 hp Willys “Go Devil” L-head engine
Transmission: T-90
Transfer case: Dana 18
Front Axle: Dana 25
Rear Axle: Dana 41″
