These photos from a Special Equipment training event in San Antonio, Texas, were published in the February 1955 issue of Kaiser Willys News. While the Commando Fire Truck was included in the photo spread, I’m betting that the photo was not taken in San Antonio.
Blaine spotted this one a site that harvests Pinterest photos (so I won’t link to it) and generates passive income when folks read through the site.
The 2A’s passenger side looks like it has seen some better days.
There are a few jeeps in this, but I thought it was the photo in its entirely that was interesting.

“Great Looking 1958 Jeep FC150, frame-off restored, complete pics of resto start to finish,,,Motor ,040 over, trans redone….really well done, one of the best you will find…..letting go for a reasonably cheap price as have other projects wanting to move on to….These can go into the high 40’s to low 50’s, ….this one has original matching motor and trans,4×4, low and high range, runs great….they aren’t fast but are FUN to drive….be ready to answer lots of Questions from curiosity seekers?….this is not a vehicle you see often !….not much wiggle room in offered price….cost way more then what i am asking for it to restore this baby!….Sweet Ride!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4500.
Listed as a 1945 GPW, I don’t see anything that early on it. Maybe the frame still is? Has some practical, offroad updates. If it is a GPW frame, look for twists caused by the V8.

Toyota Land Cruiser axles full float rear 4:56 gears Detroit lockers front and rear long field 30 spline inners. 37 inch tires. Alcan springs bilstein shocks. Wheelbase is 104. Body stretched behind door and front clip extended. Only thing original is windshield frame and grill.”

“**PRICE REDUCED** This is a fun little right hand drive jeep that I drove in high school but I don’t have much use for it anymore. I have replaced lots of parts on it including rear shocks, replaced brake master cylinder, fuel filter, air filter, fan belt, I did a transmission flush, oil change and a lot more simple stuff. It does run and drive but does need a little work to be super reliable”
