About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Most of the photos show a body, but then the seller notes there is no body.
“For sale 53 willys cj3b with cab and snow plow. This is a parts jeep. There is a frame and motor that has everything rebuilt. The former owner rebuilt everything on the frame and axels, motor, trans, dif, brakes and steering to new. He lost all the body and all the hardware in shed fire. The frame was in a different shed. Have both titles.$3000.00 for everything. Cj3b’s are rare.”
“1961 jeep cj data plate says its a cj3b, wheelbase is correct for that model; 80 inches. Has the original hurricane 4 c,ylinder engine, freshly built carb and added an electric fuel pump 3 spd trans with hi/lo transfer case. Engine doesn’t knock or smoke. Clutch good, tranny shifts smoothly. Had been sitting for three forevers when I bought it, was not running. Still has original oil-bath air filter. Body is straight, some rust repair has been done in the past, but it is basically sound. At some point someone changed the front clip because it has the rounded hood and fenders, not the high hood and square fenders that are correct for the cj3b. It needs a restoration. Needs windshield, fuel tank, and the brakes need going through. I have a set of seats from a honda accord that I was going to use in it, but never got that far with the project. Neat little jeep, just needs re-doing and a good home. I am going to attempt to list pictures but if they don’t make the post I will be happy to text them to your phone. I can deliver this jeep if necessary.”
“I have for sale on aluminum hard top for an early flat fender Jeep. World War 2 era cj2a cj3a Jeep made by Allstate, Sears and Roebuck. Includes the doors, slides and back lift area. Just needs new plexi-glass and some minor straightening out of some of the panels. A hole in the top right passenger side is the worse spot.”
“Selling a custom built Willys Jeep look a like. Whole body was handmade, narrowed Jeep grille, frame is a 1962 military Mule. 4 wheel steer, hydro stat drive, forward/reverse, 16hp Briggs V twin engine, runs good and fires right up, has a choke ran into the cab, 12v system, working headlights and tail lights and siren. Has misc ammo cans, boxes, shovel, extinguisher, etc. Pretty cool little rig. Add a mirror, blinkers and triangle and drive it around. It’s not fast by any means(around 10mph) but very unique, well built, not a hack job. Perfect for parades, tooling around the campsite, whatever. This does not have a title, it’s a homebuilt unit.
It does have a small hydraulic leak underneath the body under the driver seat. Just don’t have the time to fix it. Could just be a fitting or seal. It fires right up and runs great, just drips oil a bit. No trades, cash only. $4200. Located south of Springfield IL in Virden.”

This March 1956 article from Willys News explains how some dealerships were using the DJ-3A as a drop off vehicle. A driver from the dealership would drive the jeep to a vehicle owner’s house, pickup the car, hook the jeep’s hitch to the customer’s car, and then drive the car to the dealership for maintenance. After servicing it, a driver would bring the car back to the customer’s house, jeep in tow, and return in the jeep.

In one pic the front clip looks stretched, but in the other (second) it doesn’t look so stretched.

“For Sale: 1950-1952 Willys M38. This is an authentic M38 military jeep. It has an MC, “Marine Corps” data plate with legible serial number mounted directly to the front of the right rear wheel housing, inside the tub, exactly where it should be.
This was a “radio jeep,” that is to say it was a “commo” vehicle, adapted for use with a mobile radio and transmitter. The only thing left of the radio equipment is the original antenna mount bracket above the spare tire mount and the rear box mounts in the body.
The jeep is complete, original and is a rolling chassis. 4×4, hubs, linkage and shifters actuate as they should. Driveline itself is complete. The drivetrain is original to the frame, as is the body tub, folding Front windshield frame, front fenders and grill. It has had a 12V conversion, and the wiring has been redone to the front headllights. It does have the “blackout” drive light on the left front fender, glove box, dash panel, glove box and body tub hand-holds. It does have the sealed ports on the differentials, blackout lights, MIL Spec light switch and the water-proof ignition. It also has the cut-outs in the hood for the snorkel kit and skid plates are installed.
Frame is in excellent condition, front to back, and HAS NOT been modified. Motor is free spinning with no knocks, and the jeep has been in covered storage for 25+ years.
No title, being sold on Bill Of Sale only.
Condition: Total Restoration Required. Needs everything and will need considerable investment to make roadworthy. There is rust, where they typically rust, but nothing that is not restorable. What you are getting is a complete, original Willys M38 + many spare parts.”
“I’m selling my 1950 Jeep Willys. It runs great! Jeep is in excellent condition. It’s a 1950 so there are things that need to be done. The emergency brake doesn’t work, has some play in the steering and the speedometer is not accurate. Other than that, it fires right up and drives very well. I enjoyed goofing off in it with my son but he is college bound so it’s someone else’s turn. No scammers! If you can’t personally be here to buy it with cash then you can’t have it.”
