Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Joe-in-Mesa forwarded this ad. He also spotted a strange collection of clothes pins within the engine compartment. Can you see them? Any thoughts why they are there? Maybe keeping the gas line away from something?
“1947 Willys CJ-2A Jeep. There is a long story behind this jeep. The short of it is, my father purchased it in 1948 from a lady that thought it had blown the engine. I took it over in 1973 after it really did have a blown engine. Restored it and used it as transportation all over Arizona through college years. It sits a lot now and needs a good home.
Mostly original. Besides TLC it needs the radiator repaired and left front hub replaced. Besides those it is in good mechanical condition and is mostly original. The 134-4 cylinder engine runs smooth, and the T90 transmission is like wise in good condtion. Quite a few extra parts including springs, axles original hubs, etc.”

“Motivated seller. $2000 NEED GONE. I have for sale a 1974 Jeep CJ-5 project.The frame is in excellent shape without a speck of rust on it. It has a spring over axle lift with with American racing wheels along with brand new lock in/lock out hubs! The jeep has a Ford 351w motor, with a four speed transmission. Engine runs great and it has dual Flowmaster mufflers. The engine is not in the jeep at the moment but I have a video of it running I have a new water pump, battery, alternator, alternator mounting brackets, original flares and other new parts I purchased to go with it. Original Jeep stamped steel body, odometer reads 94,000 miles. Im asking 2000, OR BEST OFFER, NEED GONE, ”

Ron shot this photo during a recent trip to Oregon’s Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum. As you can see, since Ann’s and my visit two years ago, the jeep now has a trailer. Ron reports the museum has sold the B-17. So, if you want to see it there, you’d better hurry.
