Does not run at the moment. Sounds like it could be something simple.
“This was my dad’s vehicle. It has been 1 owner, and used as a work vehicle for many years in a sawmill. I don’t know a lot about it. Dad bought it in ’54/’55. It has a period motor, though not original. It ran when I got it, then the throttle cable – choke (?) broke and I have not tried to restart.
It has the frame for the soft top, but not the top. Front seats have been recovered. Has a box full of parts. It has had some body work done – such as replacing a fender. It comes with a utility trailer made from and old Willy truck bed I believe. Hard to part with as it was my dads who passed away, but it should be restored vs. sitting and rusting away. My hope was to have it restored, but not being able to work no it myself, it was too cost prohibitive.
I probably won’t be a wealth of knowledge on it, but ask anything and I’ll do my best! I will try to get a picture of the engine in a few days. The colorized pic is from several years ago when a friend cleaned it up. It does stay undercover and under tarp, but it needs more protection that that I feel.
Title should not be hard to transfer. I have what I need (I hope) from my dad’s paperwork. If not a local pick-up/ haul, you will need to arrange and pay cost of transport. I can easily be available to meet.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $8100
(11/10/2015) Looks very restorable.
“1943 Ford GPW, Jeep – I also will include second engine ( Ford Block with Willies head ) second engine needs rebuilt. Too many spare parts accumulated over the years to list, ie: leaf springs, axle, door frames, windshield frame, several other small items. Engine runs fine – gas tank started seeping on bottom from being stored too long and recently removed, at present I have a temporary container in place. Garage kept. Leather top removed to have some stitching repaired ( not torn ). 16 in Co-op tires. Tub and frame match serial numbers, Have original ‘data plates’, Engine is 15 hp Willies block with Ford head. Recently changed oil. I only start it up and drive around the ranch on occasion.
Jeep was acquired early 60’s by family and I purchased mid 80’s. Used primarily for hunting purposes.Email me for additional information. Shown by appointment only and no joy rides. Serious inquiries only please.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6500.
Could be a good price.

The one pic suggests it is in good shape.

(10/02/2015) Craig spotted this VEEP for sale.
“This old Willy’s body is mounted on a 1960’s VW frame and driveline. The body is rusty but still may appeal to someone out there who likes these old trucks. I far as I know it still runs but realize if you are looking at this it’s not the VW portion that appeals to you.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $5800
(07/01/2016) Looks solid, but not restored to specs. Appears to have diamond plate on the cargo bed.
“1949 Jeep Willys –
Lovingly restored over a couple year period. Never left the 94010 after the restoration. Used to commute two miles to work, a couple days per week.
Fires right up, runs great, easy to drive.
