About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

This covers over 14 years of research on the Farm Jeep. Barry has always been very helpful to me with eWillys and I appreciate what he has shared with me since I have been on the controls. His history with eWillys is very extensive and he has completed several other projects related to sharing the history of WIllys, Jeeps, and of course Farm Jeeps. Please check out his latest work and if you have any feedback please let him know. Please join me in thanking him for what he has contributed to preserving the Farm Jeep history.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE BOOK:
This is a living e-book — built from fourteen years of research, field notes, and original documents about the Farm Jeep.
It tells the forgotten story of the engineers, entrepreneurs, and corporate giants who turned a military scout car into a working farm machine.
The story spans from the muddy fields of 1900 to the 1970 model year — when the Jeep quietly stopped being a tractor and became a toy.

E. Winfield Crossley, left his successful career as a master cabinet maker and stair builder in 1936 to open the original Crossley’s Garage. His traditions of problem solving, attention to detail and superior results have been passed from father to son, to son, to son.

I have a 1949 CJ3A Jeep for sale. It runs and drives, has a blue bonded title. I got the parts to start the brakes, but haven’t installed them yet. It’s not a rust bucket and would be fine on a ranch as-is, but it needs work. It would be a fun project for someone who has the room and the mechanical ability for a do it yourself project. Possible trade for a zero turn mower OR a 1970’s jeep. Something with a straight 6.
for sale or trade ,this Jeep runs and drives excellent, four-wheel-drive works, converted to 12 V system all the gauges work, Warn overdrive, clean Arizona title. i’m located in Douglas, Arizona, Wayne
Starting out with an M38A1 and a 1960 CJ-5, the CJ body tub, was combined with the
M38A1 grille, hood, fenders, dashboard and the various minor elements that
distinguish the M38A1 from the CJ-5.
The body is rust and Bondo free, with a single patch panel having been applied to the
right rear quarter where the CJ-5 spare tire mount originally was. Paint is O.D. Green
While not an original M38A1, almost every effort has been made to replicate the M38A1
military vehicle design. This Jeep has been converted to a 12 volt electrical system and
completely rewired. There are several distinct advantages to the CJ-5 body, including
an opening tailgate (eliminated on the M38A1), under seat tool box, cabin heater,
electric windshield wiper (driver side only), lighter rate spring packs (better ride) and
cheaper replacement part costs.
Details normally found on the M38A1, but missing on this example, include: the
machine gun mounting reinforcements found on the underside of the body tub, the
military trailer light plug, the under cowl battery tray (the access port cover is there), passenger side straps, 4 ½” fuel
tank filler and the top bow brackets.
Details:
CJ-5 engine
Dana T90A-1 3-speed transmission
Dana model 18 transfer case (twin stick)
Dana 27 front axle w/Warn hubs
Dana 44 rear axle
M38A1 dash board
M38A1 parking brake system
Non-directional lug tires (all excellent except the spare (sun cracked)
3 genuine military rims
2 period civilian rims
Jerry can and mount
Registered as a 1960 CJ-5. This is VERY IMPORTANT to any Colorado residents as
Colorado PROHIBITS the REGISTRATION AND USE of any military vehicle sold as
surplus, on streets and highways that fall under the jurisdiction of the State of
Colorado.
See the law here: https://dmv.colorado.gov/military-vehicles
Other states may also have such a prohibition on the books! Do your research! This
vehicle is legal and can be registered in all 50 states.
The price is $7500.00 and is located in Cortez, Colorado (4 Corners Region).
The original engine, trans, transfer case, front and rear axles are also available for an
additional $1000.00. (or offered as a separate purchase).
