About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“This is mostly original materials and parts. It hasn’t run in 10 years but it started right up when I drove it into my barn. Needs some brake work and some alternator work, the ignition system runs the battery down in a few days otherwise.
The transmission was changed out but I do have the original one. ”
“1960 Willys 4 x 4, rare 1 ton, everyday driver, runs like a top. Original drive train, super hurricane engine with 32,444 original miles. Factory 12 volt, 3 sp. trans. with Hi-Lo transfer case. Everything works, but sometimes fuel gauge bounces from E to F. Great clutch and brakes, new tires and newer battery. Has been restored 10+ years ago. Bed sides are stained and spar varnished 2 x 6’s plus wooden insert can be slid out for metal bed bottom. Steering is tight and straight, has terrific heater and electric wipers instead of vacuum.”
Seller seems to think this is the first truck ever made? Maybe he meant it’s one made during the first year?

“This Willys runs great. Very original. The body is just average for something this old. Asking $1900. I would love to restore this jeep but I have to many projects and need to make some room. Contact me to see the jeep”
(07/06/2015) There are several reasons this shouldn’t sell for $20k besides the incorrect engine.
“With great sadness I am selling my 90% restored World War II Ford GPW/MB. She has been sitting in a carport for the better part of 5 years and needs to find a good home to hit the parade circuit again. The body is all original as is the two piece windshield. She has the original manufacturing plates on the passenger side, black-out lighting, all gauges, new gas tank, the original 6volt electrical system, original military type tires, and fully restored engine. A note about the engine: the engine came off a 1938 Willys Sedan Coupe! That is the only reason this parade/museum piece is not going for 20k. The restored engine has less than 500 miles on it as does the fully restored drivetrain to include the drum drivehaft brake.”
Titled as a 46 CJ-2A, the seller reports it is all M-38. Maybe someone swapped a VIN plate from a 2A to the M-38 for title purposes.
“This is a very nice Willys, it runs and drives and stops great and is a lot of fun. The body is straight, clean, and has no rust or dents. It has an after market m38 body on an m38 frame but is titled as a 1946 cj2. I have owned this jeep for 3 years and have had my fun with it. It drives straight down the road and the 4 wheel drive works perfectly. All fluids have been changed, new plugs, wires, oil bath was changed to oil filter with braided lines, new water pump, new starter, new fuel pump, shocks, tires and wheels, brakes, brake lines, axles were rebuilt with Warn hubs and the electric system has been converted to 12 volt. Comes with extras including Tiger top soft top with doors, the top is perfect I just like going topless and the jeep sits in a heated garage when I am not driving it. I also have a total of 10 wheels and tires 5 have about 800 miles on them and the others are the tall skinnys . I have the rear draw bar, spare tire holder, jerry can, old oil bath, 6 foot Western snow plow that was never installed, extra carb, and a box misc. parts. Now the bad, it has the typical jeep leaks, the bottom seat covers are torn but foam is in good shape, and the e brake is not installed but I have the parts. This thing is a real head turner and a lot of fun.”
“This is a 54 Willy’s pickup. Runs and drives great. 4 cylinder. Plow, new tires, newer leaf springs and shocks. New pistons and rod barrings. Would make a great restoration or drive it how it is. Frame and body are solid! Very clean A lot of fun to drive. Olny problem is some gauges don’t work and a little slop in steering. Can still get EVERY replacement part for these trucks. Have a nice original box to go with it to and a bunch of spair parts. Considering trades for Chevy nova or Chevy Vega or hot rods or muscle cars of equal value. Not interested in mustangs. Or sell 4000. Any questions please ask.”
