(04/24/2016) It needs work.
“I have a 1953 Willys CJ-3b High Hood Jeep. The drive-train and engine are not original, It has been swapped with the drive-train from a 1971 Jeep Comanche. Axles, Transmission, Transfer Case, even the engine which is rebuilt, needs exterior put together though. The Engine is a Buick 225 Odd-fire V6. Big upgrade from the original F Head 4 Cyl. The frame is in good shape, one small split about 5″ behind the front bumper. Now the body needs love no ? But it does come with a brand new rear floor panel. All body parts are available. It has been converted to a 12 volt electrical system. Almost every single piece of this Jeep I have. Close to every nut and bolt all separated in individual bags and labeled. I also have a fair amount of new parts as well. All in all after body work, final engine assembly, and the obvious putting everything back in place this could be a very fun summer rig if someone is looking for a fun project.”
UPDATE: Still Available.

Paul from Alaska wrote, “Recently I was at the Alaska Aviation Museum helping a friend assemble his plane when I noticed a very large photo displayed on the wall of the hanger. As you can see this photo was taken in 1947 at Adak but what really caught my attention were the numerous flat fender Jeeps with hardtops driving on the base. I took a close up photo of a cluster of these Jeeps even though the image is rather grainy but I thought you’d like to see it anyway.”

Labeling these 1 – 5 starting from the left, jeeps #1 and #3 look to have the same top. #2’s top is extended in the rear. #4 has no side windows. #5 I can’t see as well.

The full photo is in the background above the rare Boeing YL-15, which Paul’s friend has restored. The plane was built to win a military contract. The wings, tail and flaps come off quickly so the plane can be carried by a 6 by or towed by a Jeep.
Here’s an mocked-up example of a jeep pulling the plane:
On another note, Paul has begun his tear down of an M-100 trailer, something he’ll rebuild in stainless:
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3200.

“Black 1963 Jeep Willys high hood. 4 stick manual trans, tilt steering, winch, bikini and soft tops. New radiator, new electric cooling fan system, cb radio, headers, and good tires. Has the 6 cyl Buick engine. Lots of new parts (seals, gaskets, front axle, wiring, alt., battery, etc.) in the last year. This is a nice Willys. It could use some more work, but its trail ready right now.”
