These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1963 Jeep FC170 – rare Forward Control model. Ordered new as a fire support truck, low actual miles but then sat and engine froze up. Original engine in bed. Has all new rebuilt engine, with new pistons, bearings, clutch, pp, flywheel. Runs great. New brakes all round, new lines, new cylinders, hubs, bearings, gas tank boiled and sealed, etc. Good 3 speed trans. 4WD. Sticky shifter, needs linkage bushings, didn’t get to that yet.
Body is very good. Interior is honestly rough. Very rare utility body. No wannabes, please.”

(03/22/2016) Looks solid. Serial number of 61162 suggests it is late 1950 and not 1953.

“1947 Willys Jeep CJ2-A. Starts, runs and drives, good tires, solid frame and spring hangers, no welds or cracks, fiberglass body and fenders. Needs brakeline repaired. Had good brakes and now has no pedal. All lights and wiring work, parking brake works. Would be inspectable with brakeline repaired. It is currently in my shop but i haven’t had time to find the broken line. If I do I will get it repaired and brakes bled. Asking $5000. Will attach pictures as soon as i can get some taken.
