About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

“1953 Willys CJ3B Jeep. Clean Title and VIN plate. Was going to be a yard vehicle. Replaced badly rusted rear body with Steel frame and wood deck. New brake master cylinder, clutch and pressure plate. In process of converting to 12volt, new alternator and battery. Started to replace wiring. Patching to rest of body started. I have the hardtop and doors also. Runs pretty good, number 3 cylinder is a little lower than the rest (@60psi). I just am running out of time to work on it and need the space.”

“I have this 1947 CJ2 Willys Jeep for sale. I was going to rebuild it but my friend passed away. He had the skills, not me. The body and floor boards are in surprisingly good shape. The only missing parts are an engine and transmission. (It had a straight 6 that was bad.) I have the original lights, grill, radiator, gas tank, both front seats, windshield, and roll bar. I also have (from a Jeep Cherokee) a power steering column and pump, and the fuel tank which is fuel injection capable. ”

The ad suggests that perhaps the buyer can decipher the VIN, because they couldn’t. So, it’s a little surprising when the sellers note they have experience in ‘All Aspects of the Auto Industry’! Apparently, that’s true expect when it pertains to vintage jeeps perhaps?

Taken by Life Magazine photographer Frank Scherschel, I found this photo at the picturesdotblog site. Note the use of the parking brake! Also note the “press” sign on the front of the jeep. Do you suppose the wire cutter on the front of the press jeep was cut so that it wouldn’t interfere with photos?

This article about the creation of mobile border control searchlight jeeps was published in the April 1956 issue of Willys News. A similar article with additional photos appeared in the February 1956 issue of Globetrotter.
