For those not on Facebook’s Austin Bantam Society’s page, you missed some great photos from BRC75, the seventieth anniversary of the original Bantam BRC. Bill Spear discusses the Bantam’s origins on this post. Both photos below were taken at one of the group’s event at the U.S. Veterans Memorial Museum.
Here’s an unusual photo of a Bantam BRC-60 dressed in white.
“1942- U.S. Army peep and other vehicles with all-white camouflage during experiments conducted at Fort Brady for combat in winter conditions.”
UPDATE: Mystery solved. I found a couple brochures about this top. They were published in a 1947ish Willys Overland Equipment Book (thanks to Jon for letting me scan that particular folder). The suicide doors were original to this top. Examples of The Boston Top below:
he first two photos show Spencer Landers’ top on two different jeeps.
Close up of the corners.
These photos show more examples of the top:
Has some diamond plating in the cargo area and some stainless over the engine.

(11/26/2014) The V6 in this jeep isn’t original. Some items don’t work. Overall appears solid.

“-1954 Jeep Willys
-Rebuilt Dauntless 225 V6, believed to be the original motor
-Has est 6400 miles on rebuild (past owner kept written record)
-Rebuilt original manual trans, 6400 miles on trans
-Odom reads 6600 miles as these are the resto miles on the entire rig with exception of the motor and trans and they have 6400
-Has been sitting last 12 months, we clean old gas, carb, and changed a few minor parts to make it run well
-This drives like a 1954 CJ of it’s day
Looks solidly refurbished, but not fully restored.
“This is a classic 1946 Jeep Willys that had been fully restored. The original motor has been rebuilt, and it has been converted to a 12v system.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3500
