About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
This is the third stretched jeep I’ve seen for sale in the Spokane area in the last few years. It is possibly a CJ-2L.
“I think its a 1944 willys jeep has the original flathead 4 cylinder four wheel drive works. was used to plow the driveway has a back blade. Hasn’t been ran since last winter should run, the frame has been broke by the front leaf springs.”
“I have a 1960 split-window Willys JEEP pickup truck for sale or trade It is 4WD It has a rebuit Buick v6 brand new
white wall tires and a spare rim and tire also brand new… This truck has a custom diamond plate bed and the frame has been fully winter coated black so it can’t rust it has a ok interior and fading blue metallic paint with chrome rims. A Awfully rare truck for the price. Last year for the split window as it is a early 1960 truck later ones have a single piece window. every thing works fine the 4WD … even the heater works. may need new front springs but that’s it this truck is ready!”
It’s not in perfect shape, but looks like it would work fine in the hills.
“Has new top and windshield frame chev 4cyl 4 SPD PTO winch full roll cage with heat defrost vented thru msd :ign tilt wheel 32×10:50 tsl super swampers 5:38 gears custom made bumpers new hubs brakes rear seat
4000 or trade for willys wagon 253 740 76 eight 5”
(09/10/2014) Seller notes the motor is a six cylinder, but looks like a four cyl f-head to me. It has a PTO, probably a rear one.
“For sale, one 1946 Willy’s CJ2A. Clear title. Has “Hurricane” engine. Does not run. Have not tried to run it. Bought as project, never got around to it. Sold as is for project or restoration parts. 700.00 or best offer..”
“I have a 1951 m38 for sale, it is an early m38. Has the lifting shackles mounted on top of the bumper in front. I believe this was a radio jeep for it has the filterette on the firewall and the braided radio cable in place. The jeep does run, but runs rough due to the carb. It needs brakes and exhaust and gas tank cleaned. Most of what you see is surface rust but there is some rust through. It is still 24 volt system. The serial number is MC 11651, the engine number is RMC 39571 and on the title is the engine number. I am asking $3250 for this jeep.”
Someone customized this “time machine” quite a bit. Hard to say how much value is here.
“Selling a 47 Jeep Willy 2 door wagon. Its in rough but restorable condition. It has a Cadillac 500bb V8 and 700r4 trans. Holley 850cfm carb. Cragar staggered wheels. Figured I would try to sell it complete before parting it out. I know what the parts are worth so please don’t bother with an insulting offer.$1150.00 Complete or I am willing to part out for the right money.”
(01/23/2014) A couple minor mods, but appears pretty stock. Looks solid.
“1951 willys overland cj3a. Great shape original , no modifications to it. Great for restore. Have all new suspension to include shocks, leaf springs, bushings and bolts. 6 volt with new coil, and petronic electric I ignition. New water pump and thermostat. New oil pan gasket and oil pick up. New rebuilt carburetor . Runs great excellent compression. Tire are like new. Does need brakes. Started restoration but need to sell. Once again all original .”
(12/08/2013) Has PTO and Overdrive, but needs motor.
“1966 willys cj 6 v6 ultra rare, these trucks are hard to come by. the wheel base on the cj 6 is 20″ longer than the cj5. this jeep has the Ramsey pto winch which are hard to find and it has an overdrive unit also. you jeep guys know how hard it is to find a winch or overdrive and this one has them both. first one I’ve seen with both and I have been collecting jeeps for 20yrs. this was somebody’s project that i acquired. needs a motor. it has one in it and one in the back but i don’t think that they are any good.”
Thanks to several readers who alerted me to some Ford GPA photos on eBay. After closer inspection (and a little studying) I learned this is not a SEEP and not built on the jeep chassis, but rather a vehicle called the Aqua Chetah built on a half-ton chassis and called a G552.
According to this Australian website, Roger W. Hofheins approached the US Military just prior to the US involvement in WWII about building an amphibious assault vehicle. Hofheins proceeded to create some designs and the Amphibian Car Corporation built them. According to Amphibiousvehicles.com, only four prototypes were built utilizing three different designs. As you can see in the photos below, its smooth front and cowl are quite a bit different than the GPAs. Its side profile isn’t as refined either.
Perfect for your next trip to Hawaii! This one is tempting. It’s just unusual enough . . . It reminds me of my Ford GP shirt.
