1950 CJ-3A White Bear Lake, MN **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4900.

Appears to have a replacement body.

This 1950 Jeep has a military style body that still has its first coat of paint. Never had any rust holes. Purchased this jeep in from an older Gentleman who used it to plow his very long gravel driveway. I have used it to plow my driveway, skid logs out of the woods, launch boats, cruise the neighborhood, and ride trails carved by ATVs that todays jeeps don’t fit on. Buy this jeep because you want a dependable, and fun work toy that is ridiculously easy and cheap to operate. This is not a fickle collectors parade jeep! I have used it weekly since day one of purchase. Think of it as a street legal ATV that holds 4 people. This Willys is narrow enough and light enough (<2000 lbs) to fit in a 7 ft wide enclosed trailer. It has a lifetime registration as a collector vehicle so does not need annual tabs. In 1993 a frame off restoration and rebuild was completed on it. Most of the frame could still be waxed! The Jeep is unmodified with these exceptions: 70’s tail lights, 12 volt battery conversion, Warn locking front hubs, seatbelts and back seat. To the best of my knowledge, everything else is original. The tires are Denman Military. Flathead go devil 4cyl. Manual transmission, Manual transfer case shift, Manual front axil shift. Very steep original gears. Cruising speed 45 mph. Since I’ve owned it, the entire brake system has been renewed with new lines, master cylinder and all wheel cylinders and brake pads. Original Carburetor rebuilt this spring. Vintage steel full hardtop, hydraulic western plow, jerry can and holder available separately. Clear Minnesota title. “

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.

Runs and drives.

You are looking at a 1952 M38A1 Willies Army Jeep. This jeep would be a great restoration project for some one looking to complete such a project. It is in actually really great condition, it starts and runs with no issues. The drive train is in fine shape and I have drove it many times on public roads. 4 wheel drive works perfectly and transmission has no issues with popping out of gear. The clutch has just been replaced so it is brand new. It is equipped with the original engine, it does probably need a rebuild as the jeep is a little smokey which tells me she is burning a little oil. However it does not seem to be leaking oil all over the ground.

Rust is there, I wont lie she is rusty, but it all for the most part is surface rust that can be removed by a good bead blast. There is no heavy deep rot settling into the frame or the body.

It has been converted to a 12 Volt system however there are still components of the 24 volt system still installed, like the head lights which I am pretty sure were the same ones that were on it the day it left the factory.

It has been repainted on multiple occasions however there are signs of the OD Military paint showing through in various parts under the hood in the engine compartment, body, and drive train. Although the unfortunate side is that all the original data plates have been lost or removed.

It has a clean title and is registered in the State of AZ, I would not recommend driving it home as the tires are around 22 years old and the brakes need some work. “

The winch set up is unusual. It looks like an electric motor has been modified to work with a pro or manual winch?
