This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have too many toys and need to give one up to a good home. It’s an AM General MUTT, M151 A2. It has been approved in the state of Washington to be street legal and road worthy. It sat for 25 years in a barn before I got it and the owner lost the original title. It now has been registered with the state and on the waiting period for pink slip, but vehicle can still be sold. It has the collector plate on it now and that too can be transferred over to the new buyer.
I had the tank cut, cleaned and gel coated. It was really bad. The tires are original and so is the hoses and tubing. It runs great, but being what it is, it’s not a daily driver. LOL I really believe it’s all original. The carburetor does need to be rebuilt, because it really is sluggish on the road. I did install two aftermarket batteries because the others were not original so I didn’t worry about it too much. It is a 24v system. Other than that, it’s available for you to take it home today. Yes you can drive it home, but until you get use to it, I would suggest you use a flat bed. I do drive it to the store every once in a while and get people talking to me a lot about it or I get a lot of thumbs up going down the road.”

(02/12/2014) Some good drivetrain updates.
“1966 CJ6 Jeep (similar to a CJ5 but 20″ longer). 1975 Buick odd-fire V-6 with approximately 7,000 miles since rebuild. HEI (electronic ignition). Headman headers. 52 pound flywheel. T-90 tranny and Dana 18 transfer case. Dana 30 front axel with locker, Dana 44 rear with limited-slip. Custom drive shaft that has been balanced and installed with new U-joints. Clutch is controled by Wilwood hydraulic master and slave cylinders. Brakes upgraded from 9″ to 11″. New windshield, fuel cell and battery. Lifted 4″ (2″ body and 2″ suspension lifts). A heater was installed under the dash. Custom top with factory hard doors. Runs and drives good. The only item that should be addressed is that the front and rear gearing are not the same as the front axle came from a ’72 Cherokee (as did the power steering and front hubs). The front is geared at 5:38 and the rear at 4:27. There are some neat items on this jeep and I don’t have enough time to list all now. I do have a list of other items that have been done.
I did not build this jeep. I bought it over 3 years ago but due to life I was never able to do with it what I had planned. I am in the middle of a divorce and just don’t have the time or money to put much of either into making it like I had planned, so here it is.”

Runs and drives, but brakes leak a little.
“Engine runs well with new alternator, breather, plugs, carburetor. New wheel cylinders but still have small leak in brake lines. Slips out of 2nd gear but otherwise drives well. Clean title.”

“FOR SALE 1960 WILLYS JEEP 4X4 RAN GOOD WHEN WE STARTED TO RESTORE RAN OUT OF TIME AND PATIENCE. ORIGINAL CONDITION, BARN FIND SOME RUST IN FLOOR PANS AND ABOVE WINDSHIELD. TRUCK IS COMPLETE JUST NEEDS RESTORED.”
I’ve never seen a passenger handle mounted to the hood. Note the price on the windshield is only $1000.

It runs and drives, but body is rough.
“Listing for the owner of this Jeep..This one runs good but need a carb cleaning…You have enough time yet to get this boy in shape for more work plowing driveway. Jeep is too rough to restore but frame looked solid and this one has Title…etc
New radiator was $300 and Tires were $200 not long ago.
This Jeep had a V8-304 and three speed manual and seemed to run good before it clunked out..:D
The owner of this Jeep works 1st shift and gets off at 3:30 so after that for inspection.
P.S. I also have a friend with a rollback truck in case you need it dropped off somewhere and will give you his number to get it in your driveway.”
This might be worth a look.
“Have an old original owner Willys wagon 4wd for sale,still has the original drivetrain 226 flathead six cyl. manual trans,bought it a year ago up in northern California which originally came from Oregon.
Has little bit or rust in a few areas and a few panes of glass cracked and a dent on drivers side behind door but all complete.
Engine will need to be rebuilt as well as brakes etc….been sittin for a while.”
