About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
UPDATE: Oops, Roberto correctly points out that this is a Delahaye and not a Hotchkiss. I was wondering about the fenders not looking correct for a Hotchkiss.
The caption of the picture, if I’m translating this correctly, means “The editor of Paris Match is perched on the famous weekly publication’s jeep for the Tour de France in 1953. This is a French Hotchkiss jeep. You can learn more about the Hotchkiss at Andy’s Military Jeep Site or in French here.

(01/16/2011) “This is a 1956 Willy’s Dispatcher (DJ-3A) It has been completely restored from the frame up. It is a 4-cyl, 2-wheel drive, 3-speed on column and has 6 volt electrical system. Frame, wheels, rear, front I beam, cross members, bumpers, and most brackets are powder coated. Engine and trans were rebuilt. Has new wiring harness, seats, steering wheel, carpet, door glass. Almost every part was serviced or replaced. All exterior bolts are stainless steel. The only thing that is not working at the present time is the sending unit in gas tank. It is new but when I drained the gas tank to fix a fuel leak, the sending unit stuck on empty. I also removed the horn to paint and powder coat. There was so much work done it was too much to list, please feel free to ask questions. Original mileage is 8287; roughly 300 miles of this is since restore was completed. This vehicle is not inspected due to being registered in PA as a classic vehicle…it is not required.”
“THIS 1954 WILLYS CJ3B (HIGH HOOD) WAS FRAME OFF RESTORED ABOUT 7 YEARS AGO AND DRIVEN VERY LITTLE SINCE. IT WAS PURCHASED FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNERS SON, AFTER HIS DAD PASSED. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN ARIZONA, ON A RANCH, EXCEPT FOR THE LAST 6 YEARS. THE ORIGINAL OWNERS SON HAD THE JEEP RESTORED AFTER HIS DAD PASSED. THE SON HAD TO SELL THE RANCH ALONG WITH SOME OTHER THINGS, INCLUDING THIS WILLYS. IT IS AN EXTREMELY SOLID HIGH HOOD AND WAS KEPT COMPLETELY STOCK, RIGHT DOWN TO THE 4 CYLINDER ENGINE AND THE 3 SPEED TRANSMISSION. IT WAS PAINTED ISLAND GREEN, WICH WAS A FACTORY COLOR IN 1954. IT HAS THE SO CALLED “ZIPPER TIRES” MOUNTED ON STOCK STEEL WHEELS, INCLUDING THE SPARE. THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION WERE ALSO GONE THROUGH AT THE TIME OF THE RESTORATION. ALSO COMES WITH A VERY NICE BLACK SOFT TOP AND DOORS. THIS JEEP RUNS EXCELLENT AND IS A BLAST TO DRIVE!! IT IS A VERY NICE EXAMPLE OF A WILLYS CJ3B AND ANYONE WOULD BE PROUD TO OWN IT.”

“This was a project, totally rebuilt by my husband. Sadly he doesnt drive it anymore and it really deserves more dignity than sitting in the driveway. It will run, needs one part replaced (I believe an oil filter but my husband can give you ALL specs on this gem). All work done by my husband, who is a mechanic by trade.
If interested in more information about the jeep, respond to this post and he will get back with you. This jeep is located in Alexandria, Va.”
