The seller believes the engine is original. However, the ID# starting with 4T indicates this was originally used in a late 48 or early 49 truck (thanks to the 2A page for that info)
“1946 Willy’s Jeep CJ-2A. ID# 69538 This vehicle runs great and is in excellent condition. Features brand new exterior body and paint and brand new top cover. Interior is clean and finished. No rust or holes whatsoever in the tub. Rear bench seat is newly reupholstered. Engine is original ID# 4T36907. Breaks are brand new as well. Undercarriage is also in great condition, rust free. Also includes original gas can and extra rim for spare tire.”

(12/19/2012) This seems a little strange. The seller bought this twelve years ago from someone in Arizona. It still has the Arizona title. What’s strange is that instead of new pictures, the seller appears to be showing pictures from Arizona, which I think means the pictures are twelve years old? You gotta love the tiny rope around the bumper, lol.
