I have a few more updates to do, but the Internet has
ceased functioning for the time being, so I am going to bed.
However, I thought I would share my find-of-the-day with you. It is
a jeep light/lamp that I found at a local good will. I put a hot
wheel on top for comparison.
Year? CJ-2A Fayette City, PA $500
This poor jeep is melting . . .
“For sale: 1940’s jeep willys parts I have the complete jeep just let me know what you need and I will let you know. I have a complete rolling chassis with motor that runs. all of the body work is shot the grill may be salvageable but that’s it. I have two front fenders that are extra that are in good condition. the jeep also has a homemade plow on the front. the plow itself is not homemade but the mount and the lift are. the lift is a manual hydraulic lift that you pump by hand between the seats. I tried it and it works. I did put a new 12 volt coil on it and a distributor cap and it started up. the carb needs tuned to run correctly but it will run and you can hear it if you want. I was going to use it as a woods beater with out the body but I do not have the time to mess with it. I will sell individual parts or whole but i have no title. I m asking $500.00 for all or we can discuss price on the parts you need. please no low ball offers for the whole thing I can take it to the scrap yard for not much less than what im asking. call: four12-five82-two318”

1952 M-38 Hermosa Beach, CA eBay
UPDATE: This is back on eBay
(11/10/2012) This looks real nice.
“Up for auction is my 1952 unrestored, all original, M38 Willys Army Jeep. Yes, unrestored, all 100% original rare barn find. I have had this M38 for about 1 1/2 years now. This M38 was hidden under tarps and a carport for years! I can not tell you the history of the last 60 years other than what I have done to it to get her running! There are rebuild/service tags still on the M38 from the late 50s and early 60s! So with that being said, here are the thing I had to do to make sure she was 100% road worthy!
New water pump; (2) New batteries; Radiator checked, pressure tested and new filler neck; gas tank- brand new NOS original I had; brakes- all new shoes, lines, wheel cylinders, hoses, fittings, master cylinder; exhaust- after market new pipes and muffler (it needed a muffler more than anything, but I still have the original exhaust which will be included with the M38); transmission- all new fluid, pressure plate and clutch, gaskets; transfer case- inspected, looks great; both axles- new seals, gaskets, fluid, both in great condition; new knuckle front seals; all new 24v bulbs; one new drivers side headlight; tires- are original (4) Cooper Cross Country military tires (50% tread left still); spare tire- Denman original (New, never seen pavement or dirt); I’m sure I’m leaving something out, but please ask me.
Now, about the motor! After 2 months of working on the above mentioned list, I started the M38 up. It ran good, but not great. Because of the motor sitting so long, it has valve lash. I pulled the motor, went to get a valve job, but instead decided to rebuild the entire motor. So, the motor is entirely rebuilt with brand new everything!! Only 225+/_ miles on the motor since Feb., 2012! It was professionally done and have ALL receipts! Everything on the motor itself has been cleaned, repainted. Carb- rebuilt, new gaskets and cleaned. Distributor- new cap, points”

1946 CJ-2A Lake Livingston, TX **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4200
Check out the two large additions to the front bumper. Any thoughts on what they were built to do? (Push, Haul, Hunting Seat?)
“1946 Willys Jeep CJ2-A. Clean TX title, new antique lic. plate, starts right up and runs and drives great. Recent charcoal paint, good black vinyl seats. Converted to 12 volt alt. Good tires with aluminum wheels. Front tow bar included. The fold down windshield is missing. (Available at JC Whitney for about $500. ) We enjoy putting around the lake without it. Radio is no good and the emergency brake is gone, though I’ve never missed it. This is a really fun and eye-catching 67 year old toy. Very little wiggle room on this price and cash only! Tankx for your interest.”

1946 CJ-2A Maine $3000
The engine rebuild. It might be worth a look, but from the outside the body looks patched (rather than repaired).
“CJ-2 in excellent running condition. Flathead 4 was totally rebuilt with all new internals, (crank, rods, pistons, rings, cam, bearings, valves, etc…). The engine only has a little over 5 hours since built and purrs like a kitten! The clutch is also new and the transmission has hi-low in both 2 and 4WD. The body was repaired with all new metal by the previous owner but needs finishing to look nice. It needs a brake line or brake cylinder as the pedal went to the floor last fall and I have physically been unable to get to it. I am looking to sell or trade for a full-size bus or a motorhome.
Sorry but these are the only pics that I currently have.”
