Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (09/16/2022) Unclear how much value is here. The driver’s side front spring near the rear shackle was somehow badly damaged. I’d say there are a few more items missing than just the windshield and brake lever ….

This has a replacement body. The package includes a trailer. The grille has either been replaced with an earlier grille, or this is an earlier jeep. Note the rear floating hubs, too.

“1948 CJ-2A and M416 trailer. This jeep originated as a civilian CJ-2A and was restored to a military theme. 134ci “Go Devil” four cylinder engine. 12 Volt conversion with new battery 11/22. Body panels are pretty much rust free on the jeep and the trailer. There are some surface scratches in the paint and decals. Accessories include canvas windshield cover, canvas trailer tarp, tool kit with canvas bag, jerry can, trailer spare tire, manuals and 2 keys. Located in Alabama near Montgomery. “Military Willy Jeep for sale. Serial number 61840 date of manufacture is 10/1953. Original Willys overland 4 cylinder 24 volt gasoline engine. 2 new batteries, 3 speed standard transmission with low and high range also 2 and 4 wheel drive. This Jeep is in good condition for its age. Almost new tires. Used for pleasure rides and parades.”
The doors need glass and fixtures, but if you need the frames, they aren’t easy to find on their own.

I haven’t heard much about the Mercury engines, but the reports are the 1980 versions can produce some pretty good horsepower?
