UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3000
(07/05/2012) I can’t tell if there is rust or not.
“1953 Willys Jeep. Original drivetrain and runs good. Towbar included. Cash only. Pick up only.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $800.
This is a great price. There’s definitely value despite the rust and replaced floor boards.
“Old classic Willys Jeep for sale. Needs restoration. Does not not run currently. It will need to be rewired. Has two sets of wheels, soft top in ok shape, and original drivetrain. No time to complete the project so it has to go.”
These photographs were taken by Ron Day, who wrote articles about the races and has hundreds of additional photos. I’ve contacted him, thanked him for publishing the photos, and asked if he had any additional information he could share. Ron now lives in Alaska and continues to photograph. You can see his website here: http://rondayvous.com/

Not all the vehicles were modified. Many 1970s racers were trail jeeps with winches and tow bars still attached, such as this drag racer.

Bill from Lime Street Carriage Works was enjoying himself today, lining up some jeeps and photographing them. You’ll note the FC-170 he scored recently.
No description, but I think the picture says it all. Looks good.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
I’ve seen lots of WW2 jeeps being loaded, but not a CJ-3A.
“1951 photo Willys jeep being loaded at Baltimore on board the S.S. Steel Apprentice bound for Southeast Asia, as part of the Marshall plan”

UPDATE: Lester’s comment provides some good details on identifying this as a GPW Frame.
