Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. These images of maneuvers out of Fort Riley, Kansas, are some of the most calvary-like jeep pics I think I’ve seen. I suppose the older army cavalry hats contribute to that, too. These are all shot by photographer Jack Delano and hosted at the Library of Congress.

It’s supposed to be in great shape, but it’s hard to tell this from the pics.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
“This is a 1951 Willys UT Jeep. The body is complete and in good condition. The floor pans on the inside have rust. All of the gauges work. The engine is a L Head 4 cy. Transmission is a 3sp with hi/low transfer case 4wd. This jeep runs and drives great. I have owned this jeep for about 5 years. During that time I have had several people wanting to buy it. I purchased it with the intention of restoring it. Realizing that I just don’t have the time, I’ve decided to sell it. Also the title is free and clear.”
